Leave Only Your Footprints (Ocean Conservation and Preservation Society) was founded in 2012 by president of LOYF, Jacob Sliger. Although it is run out of the corn fields of Indiana, the organization strives to bring awareness to the community about preserving and saving the oceans. "Oceans not only provide us with food and recreation, but also are an important aspect of our lives on Earth. Containing 97% of Earth's water, they provide ecosystems and homes for thousands of creatures. However, our oceans are at war. Each year, pollution, overfishing, whaling, and habitat degradation from humans rage on our seas, destroying the delicate balance all life depends on. Leave Only Your Footprints is dedicated to educating the public on issues such as whaling and fishing, captivity, pollution, and climate change in our oceans and aquatic habitats and providing the realization that we can all make a difference. Oceans are the greatest forces on our planet. They are terrifying and powerful, but they are also the greatest displays of beauty on Earth. As citizens of Earth, it is our duty to protect our seas and defend their grandeur for future generations, leaving only our footprints in the process. " --Jacob Sliger, Founder and President
