Last day of school we have a 2-hour early dismissal!

Due to a shortage in the transportation department, FWCS will implement a 2-hour delay for Memorial Park and Northwood and a 2-hour early dismissal for Jefferson and Shawnee on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Students on the early release schedule will be dismissed at 12:25 p.m.

Yesterday during our awards ceremony, we proudly presented the John R. Leffel Award.

This award recognizes two students β€” one boy and one girl β€” from each grade level who consistently demonstrate outstanding character and leadership qualities. Recipients are selected for showing a cooperative attitude, honesty, trustworthiness, loyalty to school, respect for school rules and the rights of others, tolerance, self-control, and strong attendance.
Each student received a custom medallion, and their names will be permanently displayed on the John R. Leffel plaque in the foyer at Jefferson. Congratulations to all of our deserving recipients!

Our 8th graders wrapped up their day outside enjoying Field Day fun! Students participated in sidewalk chalk, paper airplane toss, water balloon toss, egg toss, hula hoops, tug-of-war, and 3-legged races!

To top it all off, Ms. Reuille, Mr. Thompson, and Adrian ended the day getting water balloons thrown at them and buckets of water dumped on them! πŸ˜‚

A huge thank you to our teachers and staff for organizing such a fun afternoon for our students!

4 straight City Championships. πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†

Over the last 4 seasons, JMS Girls Soccer has:
⚽️ Scored 300+ goals
πŸ›‘ Allowed only 24 goals
πŸ“ˆ Posted a 50-1-1 record
πŸ‘‘ Completed the FOUR-PEAT
πŸ† 12th championship since 2010

That level of dominance doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from hard work, commitment, teamwork, and a standard that these girls continue to raise year after year.

Proud of every player who helped build this legacy. City Champs once again!

On Tuesday and Today, 131 of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students earned a bowling trip to celebrate their hard work and dedication in the classroom! These students made Honor Roll during 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter, and are currently on track to finish strong with 4th quarter honors as well.

We are so proud of the commitment these students have shown all year long. Their effort, determination, and focus continue to pay off both inside and outside the classroom!

A huge thank you to MVP Lanes for hosting our students and helping make this a fun and memorable experience!

Keep up the great work, Patriots! πŸ–€πŸ§‘
