Don't be that guy...
This one might sting a bit...
When I first saw this post, in my head I heard:
"Dad's, if you can't...
Do 10 pull ups
Do 25 push ups
Do 30 crunches
Run a mile in < 7 minutes
Bench press 1.25X body weight
Squat 1.5X body weight
Run over 2 miles
Sprint for 10 seconds 4-5 times
Play a sport for an hour straight
.. then can you really protect your kids? Can you really be there for them? Can you really play with them?"
You may be asking yourself, "Wait, don't we want to be that guy who can do all that stuff?"
Yes... but what if we also looked like we could?
I've had a handful of times where someone made my spidey senses tingle and I simply made eye contact with them and you could almost here them think "Nope, not that guy..."
So, Dads, what do you need to get there?
Lift weights?
Lose weight?
Get your cardio up?
Train a martial art?
Train with fi****ms?
All of the above?
What is it? It's time to step up and work towards it.
Let's go! 💪

This has been floating around a bit on the socials... Today, upon seeing it for the billionth time, I got to thinking about the lack of responsibility that must take place to get to where we are. This image should be calling out men. As men, it is our responsiblity to break this cycle. Yes, hard times create strong men and strong men create good times, but this is where we, as a community of men screwed up. The majority allowed for the good times to make them weak. Why? I get enjoying the good times. Do that. Have a beer. Grill out with friends and family. Hit the beach. Whatever that may look like for you. But don't stop being strong. Train, in good times to stay strong men. Because if we men remain strong in the good times, what could come of that? Surely, bad times will still rise up, but only to meet men, strong and ready. How long could those bad times stand against a community of men at the ready?

Yes, we talk about books in our pistol courses (and others, too) because we hit it off with a discussion on mindset.
Mindset is everything, so we lay the foundation early on and build upon it from there.
