We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Special Education Pre-K Teacher to join our early childhood education program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education principles, experience working with young children with special
needs, and the ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each child.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement individualized educational plans for children with special needs or disabilities, tailored to their specific learning requirements

- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that supports the diverse needs of all children

- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and support staff to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting children with special needs

- Conduct ongoing assessment and observation to monitor the progress of children with special needs and adapt teaching strategies as needed

- Provide support and guidance to classroom assistants and other team members in working with children with special needs

- Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices and provide support for children with special needs in the regular classroom setting

- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators to ensure the best possible support for children with special needs

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field

- Florida State Pre-K to Grade 3 certification

- Experience working with young children with special needs or disabilities in an early childhood setting

- Strong understanding of special education principles, individualized education plans, and early childhood development

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

- Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young children with special needs

- Commitment to promoting inclusive practices and creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all children

The Board of Directors is pleased to be able to announce an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join IMPACT For Developmental Education, INC. as its Executive Director. IMPACT is a private, not for profit organization, focused on the advancement of children ages birth to 5 with developmental delays. IMPACT has been a leader in providing early intervention services to the children of Lee County for over 50 years and currently operates two classroom facilities in Fort Myers and Cape Coral in partnership with the School District of Lee County for children aged three to five. We also provide services for children birth to three in their home, daycare or other suitable environment as determined by the parent in cooperation with the Health Planning Counsel. IMPACT’s program philosophy embraces each child’s unique abilities, interests, and strengths in a variety of settings that value the individual’s progress at his or her own rate. Children engage in stimulating educational experiences that promote communication skills, social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development providing them with tools to become life-long learners.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director of IMPACT is responsible for the administration and management of all programs including fiscal management, financial development, and the overall operations in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards set by the Board of Directors of IMPACT.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with Community organizations and our partners such as the School District of Lee County, Health Planning Council, United Way and others. The preferred candidate will have experience in the areas of Human Resources, Advocacy, Program Management, Staff Training, Fundraising, and program development. This position will afford the preferred candidate an opportunity to grow the organization so that it can provide more needed services to more special needs children in Lee County, Florida. .

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, social services, business or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 - 7 years successful leadership/supervisory experience managing outstanding teams.
• Ability to manage multiple program areas and collaborative ventures with community partners.
• Previous Executive Director experience is a must.
• 3-5 years Program Executive experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of all aspects of operations, including effective staff supervision and development, successful program practices, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, financial development, and facility management.
• Have proven experience in effectively collaborating with partners to reach common goals and strategies.
• Must have ability to develop strong, positive relationships with volunteers, business and civic leaders, and give dynamic leadership to the Council, Staff and Community.
• Ability to work effectively with others in alignment with IMPACT core values.
• Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
• Requires ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment, to assess facts and issues, and make non-routine decisions regarding day-to-day operational problems and issues.
• Passionate commitment to IMPACT’s mission and communities we serve.
Essential Functions

• Responsible for the operations of all our programs, supporting the strategic direction of the board of directors.
• Manages the budgeting process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensures operating budgets meet or exceed the target of the 2024 budget.
• Clarifies and reinforces the division of roles and responsibilities between the Board, Staff, and the community partners.
• Leads annual support campaign and other fundraising activities to support all programs.
• Responsible for overall enrollment and program growth.
• Develops and directs high quality engagement strategies and programs. Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall IMPACT’s objectives.
• Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of leadership staff.
• Effectively supervises and develops training for employees and volunteers.
• Represents and promotes IMPACT in the local community by developing strategic working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
• Develop strategies to build an exceptional culture and to motivate IMPACT’s team and volunteers to achieve their goals.
• Serves as a member of the Board of Director and supports the overall objectives of the organization.

IMPACT is Hiring Infant Toddler Developmental Specialists. If you have taught PreK ESE or have worked with children 0 to 3 years old AFTER your degree completion, we want to hear from you. As an Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist, you have total control over when and how many hours you work per week. We have a sign-on bonus of $500.00. You must be able to pass a Level II Background Check and successfully complete all required training. Below is the requirement for the completion of the Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist Certificate.

A. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or early childhood/special education, child and family development, family life specialist, preschool education, prekindergarten education, communication sciences, psychology, or social work.

b. An equivalent degree based on transcript review. An equivalent degree would generally consist of at least 18 credit hours in one of the fields listed in a. above.

c. Bachelor’s degree or higher with a degree in Rehabilitation with coursework related to serving the visually impaired OR a bachelor’s degree as a teacher for the visually impaired.

AND a minimum of 9 hours of coursework specific to infants and toddlers or a certificate of completion of VIISA or INSITE training.

d. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communication disorders, audiology or deaf studies AND a minimum of 9 hours of coursework specific to infants and toddlers who are deaf and hard of hearing or a certificate of completion of SKI-HI or INSITE training.

Salary: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
