The School District of Lee County is proud to congratulate Cypress Lake Middle School 7th grader Nihal Gelli for winning the 2026 Lee County Spelling Bee. He will represent Lee County at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May to compete for the Scripps Cup.

The School District appreciates Suncoast Credit Union's sponsorship of the Lee County Spelling Bee, which ensures the local champion can compete in the national bee at the iconic DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.

The School District of Lee County is proud to announce a historic milestone: Cypress Lake Middle School and Hancock Creek Elementary School have become the first two schools in the State of Florida to earn High Reliability Schools (HRS) Level 3 Certification through the Marzano framework.

Level 3 Certification represents the highest standard of instructional excellence, recognizing schools that have established a guaranteed and viable curriculum and consistently deliver high-quality instruction across every classroom. Earning this certification is a rigorous process and achieving it speaks to the exceptional work happening inside both of these schools every single day.

The adventure of fossil hunting is in the books! Thankful these wonderful kids and parents joined us for a great day!

The Concert Band Students did a fantastic job representing CLMS at this year’s MPA. With 2 seasons interrupted by new construction they truly embody “the show must go on!”
