Hello fellow Cypress Lake High School Class of 77 alumni. We hope this letter finds you well. Your class reunion committee is pleased to announce that we are already working on plans for our 2027, 50th high school class reunion. A true milestone and perfect opportunity for us to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate our high school years we shared at Cypress Lake High School.
With the loss of our successful and respected chairwoman last year, Julie Bell Kelley, we have found ourselves with small feet, and big shoes to fill. Your reunion committee will attempt to provide news, communications and updates as Julie had done historically before her passing.
The date and venue for our 50th anniversary of our graduation is still in planning phase. Pulling this event together will take time, and as much advance notice will be afforded so you have time to plan a vacation around the reunion.

We just had to tough it out and move on.

Our Cypress Lake High School Class Of 77 lost another classmate earlier this year: Mary Kovacs Dirst. Many in our class had known Mary since grade school when she lived in the Villas. Later, Mary lived in San Carlos Park and had worked for Home Depot for many years. She moved to Madison Florida, and eventually to Tennessee to be with family. Those of us who were blessed to call her a friend know that she had a big heart, an infectious laugh, and was generous. Mary was always helping somebody and made a difference wherever she could.

We are heartbroken with the passing of our good friend Bill Weaver. William Gerald Weaver, age 66, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. We, the CLHS Class of 77 extend our sincere condolences to Bill’s family. A graveside service and burial for William will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery Inc, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991. Bill will remain in our hearts forever, rest in peace old friend.

I am just heartbroken with the passing of my good friend Julie Kelley Bell. I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Julie’s family, Martha Kelley (mom), Albert Kelley (brother), John and Darrell Bell (sons), her grandchildren, extended family, and her friends.
