Congratulations to my student on her new BLS cert! After 5+ years as a long-term care and hospice CNA, Misty decided it was time to make the move and experience a different type of care. As part of her professional development, Misty reached out to me for a 1:1 session as time was of the essence!
If you need a BLS/CPR certification, hit me up!

RESOURCE CORNER ✨✨
📖CHILD FIND📖
Fort Lupton parents and families!!

Child Find is a free service provided by Weld Re-8 School District to help identify children who may need additional support with their development, learning, or growth. Through the Child Find process, the team works with families to screen and evaluate children who may have delays or disabilities and connect them with services that help them succeed at home, in preschool, and in school.

As part of their Universal Pre-K screening process, they are hosting upcoming Family Health Fairs where families can participate in developmental screenings and connect with local resources.

Our goal is early identification and support, making sure every child has access to the resources they need to thrive! 🐝📕📚

During my time in direct patient care, I found that it could be difficult keeping up with the never-ending policy changes that didn't seem to affect my work... directly. As long as my patient care wasn't interrupted, I found it easy to excuse my ignorance.

Now more than ever is it important we shift this mindset in the healthcare culture.
ICE is a direct threat to public health.
Healthcare providers — we need to stay up to date. Patients depend on us.

When people are afraid, they go without the care they need. ICE can raid sensitive areas including hospitals and clinics meaning any doctor appointment, emergency room visit, or urgent care need can be violently and unjustly visited by immigration customs enforcement.

Healthcare providers — we have a duty to stay informed and understand our rights to protect the rights of the people we care for. Check out the resources on the flyer or links below.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month!

In the U.S., more than 13,000 women (and uterus-bearing people) are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year. Of those diagnosed, 4,000 of them will die. Despite being one of the most preventable types of cancer, it’s the fourth most common cancer for women and uterus-bearing people worldwide! Why?

It comes down to systems. Regular screening through Pap and HPV tests can help prevent cervical cancer as the early stages generally do not present with signs or symptoms. In many parts of the nation and in the world, women do not have equitable access to receive these life-saving services. Other contributing barriers include cultural, financial, and structural obstacles making access to healthcare more complicated than it ever should be.

Do yourself a solid and get that Pap smear scheduled, yeah? If you need access to low-cost or free breast and cervical cancer screenings, check out the Women’s Wellness Connection (WWC) from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The WWC offers free exams at more than 100 clinics across Colorado to those who qualify. Follow this link for more information: https://cdphe.colorado.gov/wwc
