Every month I get my period 2 and half weeks every month. It’s painful and I lose a lot blood that make me hard to do my normal routine. Lupus can affect the menstrual cycle and make hard for other people with Lupus . Lupus often causes menstrual changes, including heavy, irregular, or painful periods (menorrhagia) that may involve large blood clots. These irregularities stem from inflammation, hormonal imbalances, and medications, or in some cases, clotting disorders like Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS). Approximately 49% of pre-menopausal women with lupus experience heavy menstrual bleeding. The chronic inflammation and systemic effects of lupus can disrupt hormone levels, leading to irregular cycles or heavy bleeding.

Some herbs are not good for people with lupus. Even though certain herbs are often considered “healthy” or natural, they can actually trigger lupus flare-ups. Examples include alfalfa, echinacea, spirulina, large amounts of garlic, chlorella, and some types of mushrooms.
I personally drink dandelion root tea in the morning because it helps control my high blood pressure and supports my kidneys. However, I recently learned that dandelion root can affect blood clotting, lower blood sugar levels, and reduce how well antibiotics work. I experienced some negative effects myself.
It’s important to remember that lupus affects everyone differently. There is no single remedy that works for everyone. Something that helps one person with lupus may cause problems for someone else.
Key takeaway (very important for lupus)
“Natural” does not always mean safe
Herbs can stimulate the immune system, which may worsen lupus

That sounds like a wonderful start to your health journey! Pomegranate juice is known for its rich antioxidants and potential health benefits, including reducing inflammation and supporting heart health. It’s great that you’re focusing on a natural diet. Taking things one step at a time is a smart approach. Are there any other natural remedies or foods you’re considering adding to your diet?

This man above was one my nurse in Orlando when I on dialysis. He was so kind and helpful every time I went in to the clinic. I visited him the last weekend, to tell home I got my Kidney. He was so happy for me . When I was 24 I was diagnosed with Kidney Disease, and have to start dialysis. Years going in clinic, 3 days a week for 6 years it makes another thing I have to do like brush my hair. But sometimes like you don’t want to brush your hair , like I started missing my treatment . They thought it was get better if I started home dialysis but I Starting missing my treatments. Having high blood pressure , wasn’t nothing for me . I started feeling normal and when my blood was normal I started feeling bad . The tech “ don’t miss you medicine, don’t miss you treatment “ , but being young I didn’t listen to them . Years being in the hospital with infections, blood clots , pneumonia, blood transfusions ect.I ask myself “ why, why I can’t live like another person who is my age” . Can’t eat certain things , don’t drink certain things , and I fall in deep depression for years . It took a nurse , when I was I’m my treatment , asking if I want to die , to started my health serious . Little time after that I have my first stroke . It took that to finally, a stroke that I couldn’t say my name ,to change my life. God shows soo much chances to learn a lesson before it too late . Coming up to my 4 year anniversary after I get my kidney transplant, started reflecting my life and the years I suffered, make me feel so blessed and hopeful for my future. Future I didn’t think it was possible but now I see it is.
