A negative account was deleted… then suddenly showed back up on your credit report? 👀

That’s called reinsertion — and no, the credit bureaus can’t just put it back like nothing happened.

Under the FCRA, if a deleted account gets reinserted, the credit bureau must properly certify that the information is accurate and notify you within 5 business days.

So what should you do?

âś… Save proof that the account was previously deleted
âś… Pull updated copies of all 3 credit reports
âś… Check which bureau reinserted it
âś… Dispute the reinsertion immediately
âś… Demand proof of certification and proper notice
âś… File a CFPB complaint if they failed to follow the law

This is why you need to track everything during the credit repair process. Deleted accounts coming back is not something you ignore.
