Sailing into the night! ✨⭐️💫

06/26/2026

After 9 days at sea, 3 major thunderstorms, and crossing 900 nm, we’ve finally reached Annapolis Harbor—a historic town that feels like home, calling us to rest and celebrate with a very big ice cream cone. 😂😁

Quick update: big seas, but mostly behind us. The journey continues.😎

A full-on mega storm, with a short delay, and now continuing to sail. 🌞

On the road again! 😎 This time aboard a stunning Leopard 50 sailing catamaran. Departing from southern Florida, this will be roughly a 7-day trip to the Chesapeake Bay. Here we go!

Great to be back in Chesapeake Bay for the summer! 💙💙💙
We sailed 6 nights, 7 days straight from Fort Lauderdale to Baltimore -sunrises, sunsets, dolphins, storms, and 7’ seas at our stern. OliLuki crew, you deserve a hot meal, hot showers, and a gloriously unmoving night! 🛟😜😂

Thunderstorms at sea!!

It’s June 13, 2026 and we are sailing SV OliLuki north. Pretty much the majority of the southern U.S. east coast is getting pummeled by major thunderstorms, and tonight as we travel 100 miles offshore from North Carolina, we are forced to make decisions on how best to mitigate the nearest storm, headed directly for us. Thankfully we have some great tech on board. Image 1 shows a fully charged double-cell lightening storm headed out to sea, and images 2 and 3 shows the easterly cell falling apart with 2 hours. This allowed us to make a definitive decision to jump in the Gulf Stream, utilizing its 2.5 NE flow plus both our engines to go! go! go! as fast as we can in the opposite direction. Thankfully these aren’t regular events for us at sea, but it highlights the “active decision making” that needs to happen, because we don’t mess with Mother Nature. She wins, every time, period, full stop. 😜😁

I’m back out to sea and it’s time to get this show on the road! I’m helping a young family with three little ones (5,3 and 1 yrs old!) aboard their Maverick 440 sailing catamaran. We’re setting sail from Jekyll Island along the Georgia coastline and headed N to Beaufort, NC which will be roughly a 3 day trip. Here we go!!
