Hard to believe it’s been a decade since some of you took our small little course. We are wondering how many of you are still in today? What are the alumni of CTLC doing these days? 2/3 of the instructors are retired how about you guys? Let us …….oh look squirrel

We have seen them exclude our brothers and sisters and turn their back on veterans. They could have used our course.

2/3 of the Original CTLC team are now retired. The ARRTC has a new course similar to what we did out now. Anyone been to it yet?

This course is not funded this year by the US Army Reserve. That being said feel free to share your comments about leadership and your experiences as a leader both as a Soldier or in the civilian world. We look forward to seeing you if the future.

This is a good summation of the environment that leaders are charged to create in their organizations:

What makes a great leader? Management theorist Simon Sinek suggests, it’s someone who makes their employees feel secure, who draws staffers into a circle of trust. But creating trust and safety — especially in an uneven economy — means taking on big responsibility.

As I depart the 83rd USARRTC and move on in my Army career I want to thank all of the Soldiers and civilians that have made CTLC one of the most rewarding assignments I have ever had. Each class, student and command was in of itself unique and special. The people I have met over the last 3 years have made me a better instructor, Soldier and leader and for that I wish to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
To my brothers MAJ Rubio and MSG Cassano it has been one heck of a ride and I am fortunate to have traveled it with you. I will miss all the time we have spent together on the road and in the office as we moved this course from the ashes and back into the fire. Because of you I have become a better Soldier and person. You are truly my brothers and I will miss you as we each move on to the next adventures in our lives.
To the new instructors of this course you have a heck of a job to do and are now embarking on the most challenging and rewarding posting in your careers. Enjoy it and work hard to make this course the best course in the USAR. We have produced two instructors of the year at the ARRTC and I would expect that this tradition of excellence will continue. The students of the CTLC are the best and the brightest in the USAR and they deserve the best and that is why you are here.
So as I drive past N. Mariatte GA today I will not stop at my new favorite store but........Hey look a Squirrel

All the best to all of you,
MAJ Dobbe
