The KMBC family has seen many farewells, but this one was especially tough. SFC (Ret.) Jesus Lugo is retiring after 45 YEARS of service to the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) . First, as an Active Duty Soldier with 23 years in the Army, then 10 years as a contract employee, and 12 years as a government civilian.
Mr. Lugo has been the backbone of our team, working in many roles for decades. That 45 years represents a LOT of lives saved!
On the same day, we also bid farewell to Staff Sergeant Cleary, who is moving on to his next Duty assignment after being a vital member of our team for 2 years. And we said " see you later!" to SGT Hakizimana, who has earned his commission and will continue to serve the Armed Services Blood Program as an Army Officer.
We wish all these vital KMBC family members all the success in their future, and thank them for their service!
