Pre interval drills! This morning we had 3 ladies crushing their workout with the sun rise. Pictured are the 3 perfectly in sync with their pre interval skipping drills. Drills like this are great ways to break up your running form into pieces and focus foot fall and muscle activation. We focus hard on drills so we don’t have to think when we are actually running. The hope is that the drills help you to naturally become more efficient when you run!

Lastly drills are a great neuromuscular and mental reminder to your body that “hey I’m about to go fast!” So message me if you want some good pre interval drills to try out at your next workout or before your next race!

For some reason, strength work is an area of neglect in many runners. It is something that you squeeze in when you have a little extra time but is forgotten when you don’t. Strength work does not need to involve a lot of planning and effort. You don’t need to go to the gym. You don’t need to lift heavy weights. Adding just a short bodyweight strength routine to your post run ritual a few days a week can make an enormous difference in terms of both injury prevention and overall running strength.

and .fierce.free firmly believe that strength training is an integral part of any run program, which is why, during our summer 10k program, we incorporate easy bodyweight strength routines into the workouts rather than treating them as an afterthought. We have an event the end of this week! We created a Facebook event Saturday Morning @ 8:30am. Meet Jen and I Running for an easy 4-6 mile run with Dynamic Warm up and Core in the Store! This is a great opportunity to meet the coaches and ask all your burning questions about this awesome 12 week summer training program.

We’ve received questions wondering if you HAVE to do a 10k specifically. Absolutely not! We already have people signing up that are actually using our program to help train for a fall half marathon too! We are ready to work with you and tweak the group training to your individual needs. Sometimes, the prices for run programs seem steep. After all, what could you possibly be getting for $175 that is that much better than what you get on your own? Isn’t running a simple sport? You just head out the door and go. Paying for a structured program can be very beneficial, though.

You get personal cheerleaders and resources in the form of coaches. Most people who coach running don’t do it for the money - it’s not exactly a high income job (even if the prices can seem steep). We do it because we’re passionate about the sport. We invest our time and emotions in our runners and are THRILLED when we see their hard work pay off. We won’t give you a training plan and say ‘you’re on your own now’....we’ll explain workouts, so rather than just running something because it’s on that plan you printed off online, you’ll understand WHY you’re doing a workout. Having structure and having invested money in a program also tends to make people more accountable.
