Emily Asp is CSUβs NRF Foundation April Success Story!
Emily had the position of NRF Foundation Student Ambassador for the 2024-25 school year. She enjoyed many aspects of this responsibility, including the chance to act as a mentor for younger students, the opportunity to be in a leadership role, and to improve on important career skills such as public speaking and professional presentations.
As student ambassador, Emily traveled to NYC for the annual NRF Foundation Student Program. While at this event, she really enjoyed the presentation topics related to sustainability, as prioritizing circularity in the retail realm is a strong passion of herβs. Emily also found the roundtable portion of the program to be very influential and inspiring. This part of the event consisted of small group discussions with CEOβs and managers of many different retail businesses.
When asked about advice for students interested in retail, Emily said, βTake any opportunity you can! You really donβt know how deep the industry goes until you start opening doors.β
In the near future, she will be interning at Tula Boutique in Fort Collins. Congrats Emily!
