Lots of people want to be like Spammy Davis, Jr. Makes sense. It's easy to send automated pitch-slappy promos.

But is it effective?

Perhaps in some cases. But the busy professionals I come across are wary of inauthentic messaging. They can spot artificial content โ€” or at least feel that something's off. They avoid it like dog p**p along the walkway.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for automation. Streamlining repetitive processes. Check. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Engaging with other human beings. [Cue sad trombone sound] Whomp, whomp! ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ

The rising tide of AI-generated content will soon become a tsunami of mediocrity.

Google gets it and assesses content by their E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) criteria. This means that in addition to filtering out AI content, Google will seek to reward authentic authorship โ€” consistent, on-topic content attributed to a person.

It's becoming even more important to show up as an authentic human.

In 2025, more customers will be turning to AI to ask questions and search for resources.

You need to be the answer to their questions. Not just another vendor pumping out specs.

Wherever you show up online (or in email), it'll be a place where busy professionals are trying to get important stuff done. They'll be looking for engaging, easy-to-read, relevant information.

Anya Ciecierski recently shared a post by Shannon Mullins that caught her eye on the ERP Software Blog. The article wasnโ€™t just popular โ€” it stood out because it was well-written and hit the mark for its audience. Anya mentioned that it read like Shannon actually had actual experience with the products she's talking about.
