The last couple of days have been a rollercoaster of emotions! I had to say goodbye to 7 of my daycare kids so I could stay hello to our new addition. For now, this is just me putting a bookmark in this chapter while I turn another page and focus on Brayden and Millie for awhile. Any job of course brings struggles but we are so grateful for the time we have got to spend with our daycare friends. Brayden was able to live a normal life through Covid, we played daily without masks and strict protocols. We hugged and loved each other through it all. We took field trips and always had someone to smile with. He learned how to be a better friend and lots of social skills. I learned more and more about play based learning and gentle parenting. We dove into our love of nature and made plenty of mud pies. We opened our minds to creativity and wonder. We loved each other like family.

I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with such amazing families. They always made me feel appreciated. They were patient and never complained. They invited my family to their wedding and birthday parties. They brought us breakfast after our miscarriage. They brought me coffee on many occasions. They were always so generous, dropping off clothes, toys and diapers for our new baby. Incredibly helpful when we fundraised for our bunch bike. Handwritten and drawn birthday and Christmas cards. Heck, even a bonu$ when potty training went south 💩💩💩🤣 You guys are the absolute best!

The memories made will last a life time. Every single child I have loved and cared for has left a handprint on my heart. This isn’t goodbye forever, just see you later. Thank you for everything 🙏🏼❤️

Dance parties, costumes, themed snacks and lunches, bingo, oobleck sensory bin, goodie bags, wrapping up in tp like mummy’s, directed Frankenstein drawing for my big kiddo non-nappers and a ride on the magic school bus to our favorite park!

Homemade alfredo sauce on gluten free noodles, mashed sweet potatoes, chicken tenders, yogurt & frozen cherries. Everything was organic 👌🏽 delish

Today started wild 🤣 my 6yo with four 2yos. It’s like he formed into a toddler instantly! I was worried what our Wednesdays with all toddlers and one school ager was going to look like until I realized this is the perfect opportunity for me to pour into Brayden like he has been needing from me and give him the “big boy” role I have been needing from him.

We went from talking like a baby and refusing to walk when the littles were in the wagon to holding doors for us and leading the way while they followed him. It’s crazy what praise and connection will do for a child. I made sure to give him one on one connection, special helper jobs and lots of praise. Secretly sharing a chocolate chip muffin may have helped too 😁😁

Now the toddlers are napping while we read, homeschool, play and work on some crafts.

So thankful for these days 🤍
