This summer, we were excited to add Spanish to our tutoring sessions! 🇪🇸✨

A couple of our scholars spent the summer building a strong foundation by learning basic vocabulary and beginner conversational skills. We are so proud of their hard work and growth!

Practicing Greek and Latin roots doesn’t need to be boring! Olivia used a puzzle to prompt her thinking and expand her vocabulary while reviewing roots and their meanings. This practice is helpful not only with reading, but also supports science and social students vocabulary acquisition as well! 🎉👍🎉👍

Sometimes all it takes is a small change to help make math click! 🤔Using graph paper helped this scholar line up numbers which is especially important in multi-digit multiplication and division. ✖️➗
This small change made the steps easier to see and complete which resulted in correct answers!

Today our scholar practiced expanded form by rolling giant foam dice to create 3- and 4-digit numbers. 🎲🎲🎲
Then they used those numbers to solve addition and subtraction problems while strengthening place value understanding and mental math strategies.
