FIRST Global Team United States of America: Lead the way.
In Texas, USA, "Robotics is a Sport"!
Yesterday afternoon, our team had an inspiring meeting with Senator Tan Parker. Despite his busy schedule, he made time for us on short notice. Thank you, Sen. Parker. Your unwavering support means the world to us.
From the moment we first met Sen. Parker during our freshman year before the World Championship, he has championed our cause. We're incredibly grateful for his backing of Robotics as a Varsity sport and supporting our team and our campaign.
Eight years ago, TEXAS became a trailblazer by declaring robotics a varsity sport, joining just two other states in the nation. This milestone has profoundly impacted students in our team, school, community, and across Texas. Our team's consecutive UIL State Championships over the past two years are a testament to this initiative's success.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizations, and the countless volunteers who have made this possible in Texas!
In 2023 and 2024, Belize and Indonesia took pioneering steps by declaring robotics as a sport. We hope more states will follow the lead of Texas, Minnesota, and Connecticut so that our nation can officially recognize “Robotics as a Sport.”
We urge all robotics teams across our country and globally to reach out to their local officials to declare Robotics a Sport. Together, we can shape the future! 🚀🤖🏆
