Today was a big deal at The Roaming Resource Room LLC micro private school...

🥳 We made it through our very first school year!! 🥹

The friendships and teamwork and joy and fun I saw today, along with the conversations I had with parents, really made me happy and helped me feel like this school is fulfilling its purpose of providing a safe, inclusive, nurturing learning environment. Thank you to my students for showing each other respect and care, for leaving our space clean, for giving your school a chance, for making this dream a reality.

These kids better be as worn out as Mrs. B is!! 😂 Until August, my friends! 🫶

We didn't get many pictures because we were too busy having fun on our last field trip of the year! Tomorrow is field day!!

🤩 It's Teacher Appreciation Week, and I am feeling so appreciative of the opportunity to be a teacher! This is a God-given calling on my life and I'm grateful to have the privilege of teaching, guiding, and loving on the kids that come through my classroom!

This first year has been a year full of incredible growth and learning.... mostly for me. Starting a school has been my dream for 7+ years and God provided me that opportunity this school year (huge shout out to Matt Fleming and Freedom Point Church for believing in this movement and helping us get started!!). When I look back to September, I really see how the Lord was setting me on this path from the very beginning of my education career. I never agreed with standardized testing, I always gravitated toward the "problem" kids, I could never get enough of watching a kid make their own connecting or do their own thing. These were the seeds being planted for me to explore the less traveled roads of teaching and learning.

The world of microschooling is changing the world of education for kids and families who are uncomfortable in the traditional classroom settings. The ones who just don't the mold, who go against the grain, who need a place that is FOR THEM. I'm so blessed and I APPRECIATE that I am a part of this movement. 🫶

We had a great time on our field trip to The City Museum!!

Today was a cool day to be a teacher. I watched creativity, excitement and teamwork in action. Multitasking, coming up with ideas for field day, and persevering instead of giving up on an art project or game of chess. 🫶 Seanna Williams

🙂 I've had some great conversations with leaders, parents, my family, students, teachers, and more over the last two weeks. A few weeks ago, I was facing burn out and wondering if maybe I should take a few steps back... I reached out for support from my fellow MO microschool founders and got the kick I needed to keep pushing, keep pivoting, and not be afraid of change, of challenge, of my vision not matching reality. I'm so excited to spend time this summer diving into plans, schedules, and organizing next school year!! I'm so excited for the students I'm on this journey with! I'm so excited to see what the Lord has in store for The Roaming Resource Room (hint: it's big)!! 🤩 🙏🫶 Thank you for supporting, cheering, encouraging, sharing, and believing in something different for kids and families. The is coming in full force and I can't wait to see the future we help create!
