🏛️ AAASTE Visits Khemis Miliana!

From May 3 to 5, 2026, our President Prof. Boukerrou Lakhdar kicked off a packed 3-day visit at the University of Khemis Miliana — starting with a meeting with the Rector and the university's full leadership team. 🤝

🌐 Excited to share that *Aaaste* participated in the AI for Good Lab, organized by ITU, UNICC, and UNESCO at the United Nations in New York (May 5, 2026)!

Our Program Chair, Dr. Nour El Houda Bouzara, explored the exhibitions and gathered some truly inspiring insights. Here's what stood out:

🤖 UNICC AI Sandbox — A hands-on space to explore and test AI tools used across the UN system. Super interactive and eye-opening!

👩‍💻 UNFPA — AI for Women & Girls — Impressive innovations including:
• SophiBot — Answers sensitive health questions privately (Kenya)
• Hayati — A mobile app supporting young women in South Sudan

🏥 WHO — An AI health avatar answering real public health questions on vaccines, mental health, and more.

🌍 UN AI Resource Hub — One platform for all UN AI activities worldwide.

🏙️ UN-HABITAT — AI solutions for smarter and more inclusive cities.

Worth mentioning: the AI for Good Global Summit will be held in Geneva, July 7–10, 2026. 📍

The American Algerian Association for Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship emphasizes the importance of youth engagement in science, innovation, and global dialogue.
AAASTE attended a side event at the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum at the United Nations (16 April 2026), reflecting the growing role of youth in shaping sustainable futures. It is also worth noting that the Arab Forum for Youth, Peace and Security was recently held in Algeria (March 28–29, 2026).
Such platforms are essential for advancing collaboration, inclusion, and meaningful youth participation in global development agendas.

🎓 AAASTE Visits Blida 1! 🇩🇿

In April 2026, our President Prof. Boukerrou Lakhdar paid a visit to Saad Dahleb University Blida 1, meeting with academic officials to open the door to exciting new collaborations.

🏆 Algeria Has Its First Public Speaking Club — and It Was Born in Tissemsilt!

During AAASTE's visit to the University of Tissemsilt, our President Prof. Boukerrou Lakhdar made history by launching Algeria's very first Public Speaking Club! 🎉

He introduced the concept to students, explained how the club works and what it stands for, and personally formed the very first group of founding members.

This is more than a club — it's a movement. A space where Algerian students learn to speak up, stand tall, and lead with confidence. 💪🇩🇿
