Hey there friends, family, community, and key clubbers! Here's what we've been up to!
This past weekend, we were able to send 6 members of our club to the 68th annual PNW DCON for the second year in a row! We were able to do this by the family members, school faculty, and so many more who participated in our pie fundraisers this fall. Most of all, by our incredibly supportive Kiwanis Club! This year the convention was held in Portland Oregon, and we had a blast participating with 2,000 other students in key club around the PNW! We joined with Coquille high school key club and made a mighty group of 10- the smallest division in the district! We learned leadership skills, communication skills, and much more about key club, and we can't wait to bring what we learned back to the community. Thank you for supporting key club, and here's to our best year!

This morning our key clubbers came in on their day off to serve our teachers and staff breakfast. This was our second year doing the teacher appreciation breakfast and we hope to continue this tradition for many years to come. We served a hot breakfast and presented awards. This would not have been possible without Woody Woodbury from Grocery Outlet who kindly donated all of the food for the second year in a row! With love and service, your Siuslaw High School Key Club.

This past Saturday, March 26th, a few of our members went out and picked up liter on HWY 101. We have adopted a portion of the highway south of the bridge. We look forward to cleaning up this highway and maintaining the south entrance to our beautiful town.

This past weekend, March 18-20th, 3 of our Key club officers and our amazing Advisor attended the 67th annual PNW DCON at the Washington state convention center, Seattle WA. This convention hosted over 2,000 Key clubbers from all over the PNW (OR, WA, CA, ID, AK, Canada, & British Columbia). This was the first year we have attended, and it was the opportunity of a lifetime. However we were the smallest division attending, with a count of 5 attendees (3 Siuslaw & 2 Coquille) we learned so much and are so excited to bring our knowledge and experiences back to Florence. Our President, Vice President, and Editor attended work shops, socialized with other high schoolers from the PNW, and listened to amazing motivational speakers. This would not have been possible without our amazing Kiwanis club of Florence, who kindly donated $1,600 to help us get there, and our Advisor who chaperoned and drove us all the way up there and back. We look forward to bettering our school, community, and world. Captions on the pictures.

Last month on Halloween night our amazing club members had a busy evening. Many members volunteered at the FCC for the Howl-lelujah event. Key club also participated in "trick or treat for UNICEF". We raised over $300 despite the stormy weather, but $200 was kindly donated by a community member in Kiwanis. Thank you to those who continue to support Siuslaw High school Key Club!!
