Today was an incredible day for Ryle High School! As a Special Olympics Unified Champion School, we had the honor of helping host a Leadership Summit focused on inclusion, unity, and student leadership.

A group of 15 Ryle students, along with Mrs. Jill, Mr. Yates, and Mr. Miosi, represented our Unified Sports teams, Gross Motor Development (GMD) program, and the many inclusion efforts happening throughout our school. We had the opportunity to share our program with several other outstanding schools from across Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.

One of the things that makes Ryle so special is the seamless blending of students from all different backgrounds and abilities. Watching our students learn, compete, support one another, and simply enjoy being together is something we can all be incredibly proud of. Days like today are a perfect reminder of what an amazing program we are fortunate to have at Ryle!

Throughout the day, students and teachers had opportunities to share ideas, make plans, build relationships, and grow through a variety of activities and breakout sessions. We heard from inspiring guest speakers, connected with new friends, and continued working together to strengthen the efforts of inclusion and unification in our schools and communities.

We are so proud of our students and grateful for everyone who continues to make Unified at Ryle something truly special.

Getting back into the swing of things for the year!! Been busy meeting new friends, learning procedures, and growing in all areas!! We’re excited for what this year brings for everyone!

As we wrap up the 11th year of this incredible program, we want to take a moment to recognize a few students who have truly gone above and beyond in helping our class grow and succeed. Over the years, hundreds of peers have contributed to our program, but this year we are especially proud to honor two outstanding seniors: Nate Verax and Lahna Locklear.

Nate and Lahna have been part of the program since their sophomore year, advanced to Level 3, and consistently served as peer leaders in our classrooms throughout their time at Ryle. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment have earned them a very special honor — the opportunity to add their handprints to the inside door frame of our supply closet.

This tradition began in 2020 with our first two inductees, and since then, only two others have met the high standards required for this recognition. Nate and Lahna now become the 5th and 6th members of our Handprint Wall of Fame.

Thank you both for everything you have done for this program. Your impact on Gross Motor has been tremendous, and the program is far better because of your hard work and leadership. We will truly miss your presence in class.

It’s that time of year again — we are preparing for our annual Ryle GMD Track & Field Day, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Last year’s event was truly incredible. We welcomed over 250 students with special needs, along with peer tutors, teachers, and paraprofessionals — bringing nearly 800 participants together for a day filled with energy, achievement, inclusion, and unforgettable smiles. It was a powerful reminder of what community support can accomplish.

This year, we’re expecting even greater participation and are working hard to make the event bigger and better than ever.

To make this special day possible, we are reaching out to our amazing community for support. Donations help cover event materials, awards, refreshments, equipment, and everything needed to create a first-class experience for our athletes. What a great yesterday was for our annual schoolwide dodgeball tournament fundraiser for our GMD track and field day! Everything ran extremely smooth! Thank you to everyone who helped, teachers that showed up with their classes, students that came and bought concessions, participants that donated to play, and our wonderful PE department for supporting this event and helping run it! Another great GMD Track and Field Day in the books!! This year was the 10th Anniversary of this event! This year was our biggest yet, with 25 Schools and close to 800 people in attendance!! What an amazing gift it is to host a day for these wonderful people to come together and show off their abilities that they have been working on all year, socialize with friends they don't get to see often, and create new relationships with peers and teachers. What an awesome day to be a Raider!! Today was our annual Track and Field Fundraising Dodgeball Tournament!! 18 teams played, 1 team was victorious, a whole population benefited!! Couldn’t have been more proud of our Ryle Family for coming out to support this program and this great event! This school is all about inclusion, and we couldn’t be happier!! ATTENTION PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMEBERS!!! Believe it or not, it is time to start the process of the 10th Annual Ryle Track and Field Day! This event will once again be hosted on the Ryle High School Football Field on Friday, April 18th. In order for this day to see the same success we have had in the past, we will once again be looking for corporate sponsors to help fund this amazing day for these amazing students of our district. 100% of all proceeds go directly back into the event.
