⚙️ WHAT

A Charlotte Mason-inspired Farm School experience introducing engineering and physical science through curiosity and experimentation.

Students will spend the morning asking questions, solving problems, testing ideas, and discovering scientific principles through meaningful experiences on our 5-acre hobby farm.

🌿 Summer Farm School is now open for enrollment!

WHO: Students ages 9–14

WHAT: A Charlotte Mason-inspired Farm School experience featuring guided nature study, hands-on outdoor investigations, watercolor brush drawing, and meaningful discussion.

Our inaugural Farm School Day, Life on the Farm: Reproduction in Flora & Fauna, will explore the distinct ways plants and animals reproduce. Students will observe and interact with a variety of farm animals, including goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, barn cats, and honeybee colonies, while comparing their life cycles and reproductive strategies.

Through a guided nature walk around our 5-acre hobby farm, students will investigate:

• Mosses and ferns (non-seed plants)

• Asexual reproduction

• Vegetative propagation

• Pollination and the role of pollinators

• Self-pollinating and cross-pollinating plants

• Plant reproduction through flowers, seeds, spores, runners, tubers, and cuttings

The day will conclude with lunch and a brushdrawing lesson followed by a respectful, factual, and age-appropriate discussion of "the birds and the bees" through the lens of biology and life on the farm, helping students recognize the remarkable design, order, and diversity found throughout the natural world.

Families and friends gathered together this past Sunday to celebrate an amazing year of hard work and lots of fun. The children participated in a program, reciting poetry and scripture, singing hymns and folk songs, and then received their completion certificates before feasting and playing!

We are so thankful for each student and their family! It was such a great year! A big thanks to one of the moms, Morgan, for making this video for us!

Our students have been busy growing, creating, baking, foraging, crafting, and learning… and we’re excited to share the newest edition of our Farm School Market catalog!

This student-led market features:

🌿 Plants– perennial starters, flowers, herbs, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries & more

🕯️ Handcrafted Goods– pressed flower candles, herbal balms, student-made art & earrings

🍪 Homemade Treats– cookies, brownies, wild mint tea, wild violet jam/syrup & other seasonal goodies

Every item reflects hands-on learning in gardening, nature study, homesteading, traditional life skills, and meaningful work on our small working farm here in Egeria, WV.

Shop in person by appointment - Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 1:00–2:30 PM

Delivery available — local meetups and deliveries can be arranged!
