My least favorite thing, by far, is separating babies and feeding fruit flies! i3-i5 just stress me out 😬

Say hello to my third mom of 2026- Hellenium! She’s named after a flower with the same beautiful red-orange tones 🌺 She’s a very calm and curious girl. Even when she’s been tending to her slings, her little head is often peeking out, being nosy about what’s going on lol
Meet my second mom of the season: Toasted Ravioli, affectionately called Toasty for short. She’s a gorgeous and almost patternless (look at her head!) tan phase P. regius, or regal jumping spider. Her first clutch emerged the first week of January and are finally getting the hang of catching fruit flies lol. They’ll be webby for forever homes in a few months 🖤
Introducing my first mom of the season, Nurse Joy! And yes, all of her slings will be named after Pokémon lol. Her coloration is straight chocolate and I’m obsessed! She’s also an apalachicola, which means she’s HUGE (as you can see from comparing her to my finger). Apalachicolas are my favorite locality to work with, so I’m very excited for her clutch! They hatched in December and just started leaving the nest 🖤
Spider Body Language!
Also I just realized that Spooky Sweet Spoods LLC is playing in the background 😂
Spider body language, as promised! You can see Professor Magenta
1. Anchors a life line
2. Rears backwards so her b***y almost touches the ground. This allows her back legs to go into spring mode
3. Reaches our her front legs to calibrate the jump
4. And jumps!
Also- lmao I just realized Spooky Sweet Spoods LLC is playing in the background 😂
Just Professor Magenta showing off her cute and calm personality!
One of my most frequently asked questions is, “how do you not lose your spiders?!”
And the answer is simple. To quote Ursula from The Little Mermaid: body language! (I hope you read it in her voice lol)
Zendaya is one of my ambassadors spoods! This means that from a young age, she was very comfortable being handled and bonded with me quickly. Spiders like that I like to hold back and handle more frequently than all of my other ones. Just to make sure that they grow up being comfortable being held, being passed off to someone else, and overall just being handled in a way that isn’t spazzy at all. As you can see, Zendaya isn’t running around or jumping like crazy- she’s content to basically just chill on my hand. I like to bring my ambassador spoods to expos and educational events so that people can see them up close and even handle them if they feel so inclined :)
