💙 Motor Lab is getting ready to roll!!! 💛

We are so excited to get our Motor Lab up and running, and can't wait to see all the fun and movement happening with our kids!

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing Ms. Rachel Fix, the school's Occupational Therapist, for keeping our team knowledgeable and ready to make this an incredible year for our students! We are so lucky to have you!

This afternoon we got to go to motor lab for the first time! We will go to motor lab once a week to work on our fine and gross motor skills!

We have been learning all about school this week! We’ve been reading the book “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” and learning about letters!! Yesterday, we looked at our friends’ names and tried to guess who was who! Today we explored our big lines, little lines, big curves and little curves! This wood pieces help us to learn how to write letters! We each made the first letter of our name and talked about what pieces we used! Then, we used ABC cookie cutters with our play dough! Finally, we did a building activity with popsicle sticks, blocks and letters to see how many letters we could balance on the “coconut tree”! We loved this activity so much we pulled it back out for our afternoon centers as well!

Today’s art activity was watercolor painting! This is such a fun activity because not only are we painting but we’re practicing following directions and remembering the steps for painting with watercolors! Everyone chose their own frame to paint! Next, we’ll be adding family photos to our frames to hang in our classroom!

We’ve been reading the book “Pete the Cat I Love my White Shoes”! Today, we got to decide on our own what Pete might step in and we painted his shoe that color!
