The first day of school is full of excitement—but it's also a great opportunity to notice how your child moves. 🎒✏️
As a pediatric physical therapist, these are a few of the things I naturally look for:✔️ Backpack fit✔️ Walking mechanics✔️ Sitting posture✔️ Coordination✔️ Body awareness
None of these tell the whole story on their own, but together they give us valuable insight into how a child moves, learns, and participates throughout their day.
Sometimes the smallest observations can make the biggest difference. 💛
📌 Save this post for the first week of school, and let me know—which one have you noticed with your child?

There isn't a "perfect" toddler for Play Lab—and that's exactly the point. 💚
If your little one loves to move, is curious, enjoys being around other children, and learns best through play, Play Lab was created with them in mind.
Our goal isn't perfection. It's creating opportunities for children to build confidence through movement while supporting the caregivers who cheer them on every step of the way.
💚We'd love to welcome your family to Play Lab this month! DM us to reserve your spot in the September play lab!

👟 Back-to-School Shoe Guide for Preschoolers

When shopping this back-to-school season, look for:
✔️ A wide toe box so little toes can spread naturally
✔️ A flexible sole that allows the foot to move and strengthen
✔️ A sturdy, semi-flexible heel cup for stability without being overly rigid
✔️ Breathable materials to keep little feet comfortable all day
✔️ Straps or secure closures for a snug fit and greater independence
The best shoe is one that lets your child's feet move, explore, and play with confidence. 💚
📌 Save this guide for your next shoe shopping trip, and send it to another preschool parent who's getting ready for back-to-school! 👟🌱

School success isn't just about letters and numbers—it's about movement, too. 🎒✏️
Strong movement foundations help children sit longer, participate with confidence, and keep up with everything the school day brings.
Here are 5 physical skills that can make a big difference:✔️ Sitting posture✔️ Core endurance✔️ Crossing midline✔️ Backpack tolerance✔️ Playground confidence
These everyday skills support learning, independence, and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
📚Sometimes, helping a child thrive at school starts with helping them move well.
📌 Save this post for back-to-school season and share it with another parent or teacher!

Before babies take their first steps, they're already learning so much. 💚
Every wobble, reach, and little shift in position is helping build the foundation for walking.
✔️Weight shifting teaches babies how to move from one leg to the other.✔️Confidence in standing helps them gather proprioception, strength and stability prior to those dynamic first steps✔️Movement exploration gives them countless opportunities to problem-solve, adapt, and develop new skills.
Walking isn't just one milestone—it's the result of hundreds of small moments of learning along the way.
The best thing we can do? Give babies safe opportunities to move, explore, and discover what their bodies can do. 🌱
💬 Which of these surprised you the most?
