Look at those gentle, heartbreaking eyes. This sweet senior boy was found lost and confused near the bank in Garrett, TX. Now he is sitting in a cold shelter kennel wondering where his family went.

Senior dogs are the absolute easiest and most loving companions, they just want a quiet place to lay their head and a human to adore. He doesn't deserve to spend his final moments in a shelter kennel. He deserves a warm home and a second chance.

Once a month, the SNN transport shuttle will pick up your furry friends directly from the city shelter, safely shuttle them to their clinic for spay or neuter surgery, and return them to you at the shelter the same day! 🚐💨 ✨

What you need to know:

Convenience: Drop off and pick up your pet right at the Ferris Animal Shelter!

Extra Services: Need vaccines or heartworm testing? You can easily add them to your surgery appointment.

Cost: Low-cost surgery options with just a $10 transport fee per pet.

Safety First: Cats must be in a secure, hard carrier and dogs must be on a secure leash.

This is Tigger. He’s 2 years old, and today was supposed to be his last day on Earth.

Initially thought to have been hit by a car, X-rays revealed Tigger actually has a congenital spinal deformity called thoracic lordosis, giving him a unique, wobbly bunny hop. Combined with a heartworm-positive diagnosis, he was passed by for months in a crowded shelter until he was placed on the euthanasia list.

Ferris Animal Shelter pulled him from danger just in time! He’s safe and starting his heartworm treatment, but he needs a real home. Tigger has no idea he's different, he just wants to love and be loved.

In the quiet moments at the shelter, when the barking dies down, 2-year-old Maxine tilts her head and stares out through the chain-link fence. If you ask her, her eyes give you the answer: She dreams of a home. She dreams of a family.

But right now, time is a luxury Maxine simply doesn't have.

A Bittersweet Goodbye in the Making
Maxine sits in her kennel alongside her two brothers, Thunder and Lightning. They lean on each other for comfort in a loud, terrifying world. But there is a heartbreaking, silent divide in that cage.

Lightning is safe. He received a life-saving rescue tag, and while he is still at the shelter until mid-July, his future is guaranteed. He has a ticket out.

But Maxine and Thunder? They don't have tags. They don't have a guarantee of tomorrow. They are sitting next to their brother, completely unaware that while his life is secure, theirs are hanging by a thread.

Because the shelter is completely over capacity, Maxine and Thunder might not even make it to mid-July to see their brother leave.

Ferris Animal Shelter is over capacity. Maxine is a beautiful, gentle 2-year-old spayed female who deserves a lifetime of love, but her clock is ticking down to zero.

Health: Heartworm positive (Don't let this scare you! She has already comfortably started the slow kill method of treatment, and the shelter can guide you through it).

Maxine has so much life left to live, so many head-tilts to give, and so much love to share. She just needs someone to look past her medical status and see the fiercely loyal companion waiting inside. (And if you have room for two, her brother Thunder is waiting desperately right next to her).

Update: Rescued

This gorgeous mama and her four tiny puppies just found themselves surrendered to the shelter. A loud, stressful shelter environment is incredibly dangerous for a nursing mom and her vulnerable, unvaccinated babies. They need a rescue!

She is being such a good mom to her little ones but you can see the worry in her eyes. She is exhausted, confused, and trying her best to keep her babies safe.

They are completely out of options and need our help to get out of the shelter so they can grow up safe and loved.
