Having lived in India for a significant part of my life, color has always influenced me especially with my mother running a boutique designing clothes for brides and bridesmaids. My work also reflects my love for Bollywood movies and my fascination with life in India. I strive to give life to clay, decorating it with Indian influences. Thrilled to hear that “Topography” has been selected for 2027 Quilt National Exhibition exhibit.
Dimensions: 73”x 55”
And yes, it has a jagged edge.
Driven by a fascination with color, this work explores the variations of green I achieved through experiments in dyeing fabric. The composition is pieced improvisationally, prioritizing the movement of value across the surface. The resulting patterns evoke an aerial perspective of vast, sweeping fields which are further highlighted with quilting fluid topography lines

Dyed a linen cotton shirt. I am liking this and now the ideas are brewing in my head. I do wish they stitched clothes with cotton thread so that would dye as well. The white polyester thread is annoying
