This week made one thing painfully clear: The Kids Over Corporation Campaign is needed now more than ever. Republican leaders in the General Assembly are on the verge of enshrining a one-size-fits-all tax cut in the state constitution.

On the surface, lowering personal income taxes and limiting property taxes may sound like a win for working-class families. In reality, these measures will reduce state revenue which weakens available investments for public schools and other essential services. This is not just a regular policy change, adding it to the state constitution makes it near impossible to reverse.

The real winners, billionaires and corporations, who will pay the same income tax rates as all of us. How can we be so confident that these changes aren’t about bringing tax breaks to working class families?
