What a great example Forrest City School District of engaging with the community!! Thank you for doing this!!

We would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the barbers, hairstylists, and braiding professionals who generously donated their time and talents to support the final day of our Back-to-School festivities.

Today, a dedicated team of hair professionals gathered inside the Dwight Lofton Mustang Arena to provide free haircuts, hairstyling, and braiding services to students of all ages. The tremendous turnout helped make the event an overwhelming success.

We also thank every parent and guardian who took time out of their day to bring their children to the arena.

A special thank-you goes to our Family Engagement Coordinator, Dr. Romana Mathews-Udoh, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes for several weeks to bring this entire weekend of Back-to-School activities to life.

As our students return to the halls tomorrow morning, let us also recognize and appreciate the educators and staff members who selflessly pour into our students each day.

🚗 The IMPACT 2026 Summer Roadtrip is officially in the books!

Over the summer, I traveled nearly 2,500 miles across Arkansas and made 60+ stops at schools, districts, and educational cooperatives — reaching all four corners of our state! 🗺️

Along the way, I had the opportunity to:
🏫 Visit IMPACT schools and connect with principals and leaders
🤝 Meet with superintendents and district leaders about recruiting future IMPACT Fellows
🎓 Share the opportunity to earn an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and principal certification
❤️ Carry the WE CARE message and share WE CARE promotional SWAG at every stop

From site visits to recruiting conversations, every mile was a reminder of how many incredible educators across Arkansas are committed to making a difference for students and communities.

A huge thank you to every superintendent, principal, school leader, and educator who welcomed me this summer. The roadtrip may be over, but the journey to recruit and develop the next generation of school leaders is just getting started!

Cohort 12 applications open September 1! 👀

Any time we're near our IMPACT Fellows and schools we love to stop in and say Hi. It was exciting to see Cohort 3 graduate Rhiannon Cabaniss at Dermott HS, and just down the road at Lakeside MS, IMPACT 10 Fellow Christina Nolen-Davenport. These leaders are excited and ready for students to return.

What a wonderful visit at Drew Central Middle School with Cohort 11 Fellow Amanda Bliss and our newly promoted Principal, Kelsey Tucker, who is an IMPACT Cohort 6 graduate. The community is on board with their mission evidenced by the 86% attendance at Open House this week. 🏴‍☠️
