We may be from different institutions and many different clubs and perhaps even different disciplines of science, but we have a lot in common. By sharing our diversity, we grow.

We hope that everyone has had a fun and relaxing summer! As we enter the last stretch before fall classes begin, keep your eyes open for announcements regarding our Fall Research Workshop, which will inform and prepare students interested in scientific careers/research for opportunities in industry, grad school, and more!

Hello! My name is David Creasman and I am the president of CANCAS for the 2014-2015 academic. This a picture of me with some research I did last summer at an REU at UNC Chapel Hill, looking into regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics in axonal growth. I look forward to seeing you all at our Fall workshop, and at the big meeting in the Spring!

Hello! My name is Morgan and I will be running the Instagram account for the 2014-15 term as a CANCAS historian. This is from last year's annual symposium where I attended as a co-author. This year I hope to attend as the primary author as I continue to research the Pdx mafA fusion protein.

North Carolina Academy of Science The 111th Annual Meeting of the North Carolina Academy of Science will be held at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, NC on March 28-29, 2014. The theme for this year’s NCAS meeting is “Applying Evolution to Medicine and the Environment.”
Hello CANCAS members, the fall meeting date has been officially set Saturday November 9th at Guilford College!! :) mark your calendars.
