Fun Fact: Did you know Dick Johnson helped launch sports like bowling, wrestling, and volleyball at Fayetteville High School? 🎳🤼‍♂️🏐

As Athletic Director, Dick wasn’t just maintaining programs - he was building them. He expanded Fayetteville’s athletic offerings by adding new varsity sports, creating opportunities for more students to compete, grow, and find their passion. His legacy lives on in every new athlete who puts on a Bulldogs uniform.

Our fifth inductee in the Class of 2025 is Dick Johnson! For 18 years, Dick served as a cornerstone of Fayetteville Schools. Shaping not just athletic programs, but the entire student experience. From Head Football Coach to Athletic Director and eventually Assistant Superintendent, Dick’s vision and leadership brought transformative change.

He expanded sports programs, led the Harmon Renovation Project, and launched events like the Holiday Hoops Tournament and Weekend of Champions. His tireless work elevated Fayetteville athletics and inspired a generation of student-athletes, educators, and leaders.

Fun Fact: Fred Gulley was so talented, he had college basketball offers as early as junior high. 🏀

His high school dominance carried over to the college level, where he started as a true freshman at Oklahoma State, helping lead the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament. After transferring to the University of Arkansas, Fred made history again, setting the program’s all-time record for assist-to-turnover ratio (4.06)—a stat that speaks volumes about his vision, poise, and basketball IQ.

From a young phenom to a college playmaker, Fred's journey is one of focus, leadership, and excellence every step of the way.

Our fourth inductee for the Class of 2025, is Fred Gulley! A force on the court at Fayetteville High School, Fred earned Mr. Basketball for Arkansas, was a 2x Gatorade Player of the Year, and led the Bulldogs to a perfect season and state championship his senior year. 🏆🏀

From back-to-back regional titles in 8th and 9th grade to dominating at the varsity level, Fred was a 3x First Team All-State selection and a true leader on and off the court. His success continued in college when he started as a freshman at Oklahoma State, where he helped take down a #1-ranked Kansas squad, and then made his mark at the University of Arkansas. Fred’s leadership, vision, and toughness left a legacy that still echoes through Arkansas basketball.

Our third inductee in the Class of 2025 is Jim Elliott! From breaking shot put records at Ramay Junior High to dominating the football field at Fayetteville High, Jim Elliott was a true multi-sport standout. As a senior, he racked up 93 tackles, earned All-Conference, All-State, All-American, and was named 3A West’s Top Lineman of the Year. 🐾🏈

His talent didn’t go unnoticed. Coach Lou Holtz recruited him to play for the Razorbacks, where he continued his football career at the University of Arkansas from 1977–1981. From Fayetteville to the SWC, Jim’s legacy is one of strength, leadership, and excellence on and off the field.

Fun Fact: Did you know Aubrey Edie was the first-ever Gatorade Player of the Year at Fayetteville High School for volleyball? 🏐🏆

A multi-sport standout at Fayetteville High School, Aubrey set the bar high - literally and figuratively. She helped lead the Bulldogs to a state championship her senior year and in the same year her groundbreaking Gatorade award wasn’t just a win for her, it was a historic moment for the sport at Fayetteville High.

Our second inductee in the Class of 2025 is Aubrey Edie! A three-sport standout at Fayetteville High School, Aubrey left her mark in volleyball, basketball, and softball—earning a State Championship, Gatorade Player of the Year, and numerous All-State and All-Conference honors along the way.

Aubrey took her talent to Ole Miss, where she became the school’s all-time assist leader in volleyball and stacked up awards both on the court and in the classroom — including 2x Academic All-American, 4x SEC Honor Roll, and the university’s highest academic honor, the Taylor Medal. 🏐📚

Today, Aubrey continues to lead and inspire as a National Board Certified 2nd grade teacher in Birmingham, Alabama. From record-breaking athlete to standout educator, her impact is felt far beyond the game. Help us celebrate Aubrey’s incredible journey!

Fun Fact: Candice Brewer Graham was named Defensive Player of the Year every single season she played college basketball at the University of Tulsa.🏀

Before locking down opponents at the collegiate level, Candice was a standout at Fayetteville High School - leading the Bulldogs in points, rebounds, steals, assists, and free throw percentage during both her junior and senior seasons. She finished her FHS career with 1,062 points and helped take her team to back-to-back state finals.

Her dominance didn’t stop there. At Tulsa, she became the school’s all-time assist leader and ranked in the top 10 in steals, assists, and scoring by the time she graduated.

Our first Class of 2025 inductee to the Fayetteville Hall of Greats is Candice Brewer Graham! A Fayetteville High School standout and the daughter of Razorback legend Ron Brewer, Candice carved out a legacy of her own as a dominant guard for the Bulldogs. 🏀 🌟

A two-time All-State selection, Candice led in nearly every stat category and helped take FHS to back-to-back state finals. Her success continued at the University of Tulsa, where she became the all-time assist leader and four-time Defensive Player of the Year — all while earning academic honors and national recognition.

Today, she continues to inspire as a coach, leader, mom of three rising athletes, and breast cancer survivor celebrating five years in remission. Help us celebrate Candice's incredible journey and well-deserved place in the Hall of Greats! 👏
