Recap of the 2026 BMP Momentum Medical Clinic 🤍

Words truly can’t capture how grateful we are for the support that makes moments like this possible. Because of you, we are able to show up, serve, and bring meaningful care to the Shirley Castle community.

We’re still taking it all in, stay with us as we continue to share reflections, stories, and highlights from the clinic in the days ahead.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our dental and orthodontic community here in Northwest Arkansas!

In preparation for our annual health clinic, local offices came together to donate over 200 toothbrushes, 400+ tubes of toothpaste, and additional funds to support a mobile dental setup in Shirley Castle. Because of you, children who may have gone without basic dental care will now have access to the tools and support they need!

This is what community looks like. This is what impact looks like.

Thank you for stepping in, for giving so generously, and for helping ensure that a child’s health is never a barrier to their education!

“Two decades later, the same struggles still exist.”

There’s something deeply human about wanting to give back to the people and places that shaped us. The parents who sacrificed, the teachers who believed, the communities that carried us when we had little to give in return. We all hope that one day, we can say thank you in a way that truly matters.

For Richard, that “thank you” looks like action.

As a child, he walked miles each day to school in Shirley Castle, Jamaica, through rough terrain, often without meals or proper shoes. He faced impossible choices, like whether education or food would come first. And he knew his story wasn’t unique. Many of his classmates were navigating their own versions of those same barriers.

Years later, through resilience and determination, Richard built a life far beyond those early challenges. But he never left that community behind. Instead, he turned his success into purpose, working every day through BMP Momentum to ensure today’s students have access to the opportunities he once had to fight for.

Because when we say this mission is personal, we mean it.

And if you’ve ever pushed forward when the odds were stacked against you, if you’ve ever known what it feels like to keep going anyway, then this mission is personal to you, too.

They ran barefoot… and still placed in the top 10.

At Shirley Castle Primary, we’ve seen how athletics builds confidence, discipline, and stronger engagement in the classroom. In fact, studies consistently show that students who participate in sports have higher attendance, improved academic performance, and greater self confidence.

The talent is there. The opportunity is not.

Now it’s time to level the field.

We’re raising support to provide these student athletes with proper running shoes and team gear so they can show up prepared, confident, and proud.

The mission trip to Jamaica was an absolute success. 🇯🇲💛

We are so incredibly grateful not only for the work these volunteers poured into Shirley Castle, but for their willingness to be the very first teams to partner with BMP Momentum in this way. That means more to us than we can fully put into words.

When organizations take a chance on a small, grassroots nonprofit like ours, it creates opportunities that go far beyond a single trip. It helps us grow, reach more people, and continue expanding access to education in ways we could not do alone.

Thank you so much to Community Bible North Fort Smith and Virginia Tech Baptist Collegiate Ministries () for believing in this mission.

Volunteers planted a fruit and vegetable garden that will support our daily meal program while also teaching students about sustainability and local agriculture. They brought new life and color to the campus in a way that will continue to give back long after they’ve left.

They also completely transformed the school kitchen. From painting and repairs to building storage and installing a brand new commercial stove, these upgrades will directly strengthen our meal program, which many students rely on every single day.

They even spent time with students preparing for Sports Day, pouring encouragement into them before their competition. And Shirley Castle students showed up and showed out, placing in the top 10 across the island in just their second year competing.

We are so thankful for everyone who made this week possible, especially our donors and supporters who continue to stand behind this work. And to our new friends at Community Bible North Fort Smith and Virginia Tech Baptist Collegiate Ministries, thank you for serving with such heart. 💛💚🖤

This semester, BMP Momentum has the honor of returning to the University of Arkansas Business School to participate in the Strategic Philanthropy class!

In this course, students step into the role of philanthropists, evaluating nonprofits based on impact, strategy, and measurable outcomes before deciding where to direct real funding. It is powerful to see future business leaders thoughtfully investing in education and community change!

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Rogelio Contreras and his students for engaging with our mission and challenging us to think even bigger about impact. Education changes lives, and so does teaching the next generation how to give with intention. We look forward to sharing where this journey leads. ❤️🇯🇲
