Bottom Feeders Fishing is a group of fishermen / women who promote fishing and fishing events in our community. We host Fundraiser fishing tournaments in our area on the Cape Fear River System to help sponsor the National Federation of the Blind and other community organizations.

Catfish for Kids: Hooked on the Outdoors Family Fishing Workshop
Join Bottom Feeders Fishing Club and Operation Boots on the Ground for a day dedicated to introducing youth and families to the joys of fishing, conservation, and the outdoors at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
This hands-on educational event is designed for anglers of all experience levels, from first-time fishermen to seasoned young anglers. Participants will enjoy fishing in stocked ponds while learning basic fishing skills, fish handling, outdoor ethics, and the importance of conservation from experienced volunteers.
Our mission is simple: to inspire the next generation to unplug, get outside, and discover a lifelong appreciation for fishing and North Carolina's natural resources. Whether a child catches their very first catfish or simply enjoys a day outdoors with family, every participant will leave with new knowledge, lasting memories, and a deeper connection to the outdoors.
Come cast a line, learn something new, and get Hooked on the Outdoors!

The One That Got Away
Well, last night on the water, I was sittin’ there mindin’ my own business when all of a sudden I felt a little tap, tap on the end of my rod.
I picked it up and started reelin’ it in, thinkin’ I had me a fish coming to the boat. But nope… that joker was coming straight at me!
Before I could even get my thoughts together, he was already under the boat. I finally got some good tension on him and for just a second I thought, “Well boys, looks like we got one!”
Then…
SNAP!
Line broke.
Fish gone.
And there I stood with nothin’ but a limp line and a story about the one that got away.
I don’t know how big that fish was, but according to me, it was a monster. 😂
Guess we’ll just have to get back out there and settle the score.
