It feels like a missed opportunity to help address the root cause and instead creates an environment that continues to distance itself from students who struggle with physical, emotional, or mental health issues.
In my opinion, there should be a matrixed approach and this should of course include having a student who interrupts or negatively impacts the learning environment assessed. A holistic approach should be created that provides a clear pathway to reunite the child with learning. Children who have problems in the classroom are not usually trying to create a problem on purpose. It is a cry for help and we should be there to answer the call

I had the chance to get to know these candidates well over these last few months and I know that they will do their best to ensure bright and hopeful futures for our young people 💜🤩

Please consider volunteering for one of the strategy groups through your local school or through the board. It's so important that parents, students, and the greater community be involved in shaping our public education system 🇺🇲

Today is the day!
I've been running on a platform of transparency, strategy, and results.

I believe that as a school board, we should be transparent about our actions and intentions. The public should learn about what the school board is, how it operates, and what it is (and isn't) doing.

I believe that a good strategy begins with the end in mind. The end, in this case, is well educated young people who feel prepared to achieve their dreams. A strategic plan allows us to create a roadmap with actions and expected outcomes.

Everyone understands that the results show where the strengths are while also highlighting gaps in achievement. I am to set SMART goals that will help us replicate our positive outcomes while informing us of the areas that need work.

If this vision resonates with you, I ask that you vote for me for the Farmington Public School Board.

Public School is a service.
If you had a service that didn't work for you, wouldn't you want it to change? If you didn't have trust in the service provider, wouldn't you expect to have a voice? If you didn't feel validated and included, but it was your only option, how would you feel?

I promise to work for you and your children. I promise to listen. I promise to find ways for your voice to be heard. I promise to ensure your family feels that their education reflects them in the classroom and the curriculum.

The use of data and statistics can be really useful in helping measure outcomes and helping us set goals. But data can be tricky- too much, too little, bad data, etc.

As someone who works with lots of different data sets everyday, I know it's critical to have good data quality and a plan on how to use it.

If elected, I aim to implement SMART goals that are based on high quality data and thoughtful analysis.
