💕 A Full-Circle Moment at Little Learners Spectrum Center 💕

This year has been especially meaningful for our Little Learners family as the founder’s daughter, Miss Addy, began teaching in the classroom.

It is both heartwarming and bittersweet to watch Addy step into her mother’s footsteps. While she plans to pursue a career in dermatology after graduation, she is already making a difference in the lives of children every day.

For the first 10 years of Addy’s life, Little Learners operated right on her family’s property. She grew up surrounded by children, lesson plans, classroom activities, licensing regulations, and the daily work of building a school dedicated to helping children succeed. Long before she ever stepped into a teaching role, she was learning what it meant to educate, support, and advocate for young learners.

Because of the unique experiences she has had growing up alongside Little Learners, Addy has developed an understanding of early childhood education that many educators spend years acquiring. She has watched the school grow from the very beginning and has been immersed in its mission her entire life.

Using the skills and knowledge she has gained over the years, Addy brings patience, compassion, and experience to the classroom every day. Her journey is a testament to the impact that passion, dedication, and service can have on future generations.

We are incredibly proud of the experience Addy is gaining before heading off to college, and we are grateful for the heart and commitment she brings to our students each day.

Please join us in celebrating Miss Addy and this special chapter in the Little Learners story! 💙💛

If you're already eager to get your kids outside, you likely don't need a list of reason why. But if it strengthens your resolve or makes you feel better about your efforts, read on!

Nature challenges kids to think, imagine, create, explore, and solve problems. It builds confidence, encourages movement, and offers a break from the constant stimulation of modern life.

The best part? Most of these benefits don't require elaborate adventures or expensive gear. A neighborhood walk, a patch of woods, a park, or even a backyard can be enough to spark curiosity and wonder.

🌿💚 Spotlight on Ms. Courtney! 💚🌿

Today, Ms. Courtney introduced our new “Is the Problem Big or Small?” visual support tool, and we couldn’t be more excited! 🎉

We love how this resource helps children identify their feelings, think through challenges, and choose coping strategies that work best for them. Even more importantly, it encourages self-advocacy by offering choices—whether a child needs a hug, space, deep breaths, a conversation, or simply someone to sit with them.

What makes this tool especially meaningful is its inclusive design. Children of all abilities, backgrounds, and communication styles can see themselves represented and supported. Every child deserves tools that help them feel seen, heard, and understood, and this visual does exactly that.

Thank you, Ms. Courtney, for bringing thoughtful, inclusive practices into our classrooms and creating spaces where every learner can thrive. 🌲✨
