If you don’t prioritize your life, someone else will.
~Greg McKeown

You better believe it. This is why I have a morning routine. I got tired of letting my calendar run my life.

Saying no because my super power. If it didn’t support my values or goals, it became a no and there is nothing selfish about that.

Reclaim your time.

Atomic Mornings is taking on December clients.

I AM AN ADDICT...

I am ashamed...I am unlovable...I have lost my way...but YOU'RE PROUD OF ME???

It was the spring of 2011 and My hands shook as I held the phone and confessed my sins to a complete stranger. As my tears flooded the floor below, I heard her say with such genuine sweet grace, “I am proud of you”.

Her words broke me open.

I sobbed uncontrollably…who could possibly be proud of me in this moment of personal darkness? What is there to be proud of?

I was 30 years old, and I was finally admitting that I was addict.

The woman’s voice on the crisis hotline I called was so kind, gentle, and non-judgmental.

Those words became a seed – one that I chose to protect, water, and love. It was hope. It was self-love. It was grace.

This set me off on a bootcamp of self-discovery: group work, recovery work, therapy, and a rediscovering of the things that used to bring me joy. This wasn’t about abstaining from just one thing, it was about healing what was broken inside me and how to fill the emptiness with what belonged there and fueled my purpose in life, not what would give me a numbing instant gratification that always fueled my shame. I didn't need a substance or activity to be addicted to...truth is, I could choose anything at any given time to be addicted to. In fact, my first addiction was when I was just a kid. I was addicted to praise. I needed to understand what pain I was trying to medicate, avoid, reject, numb.

Every time I hit a low point in life, someone or some message would remind me that I matter and that I should be proud of myself for admitting I was struggling and needing help.

How often have you rejected hearing the words, “I’m proud of you”?

It takes real courage to admit when you feel powerless, surrender control, and ask for help. You are worthy of love. You are worthy of healing. It’s never too late to write your own comeback story. Trust me, I have written many of them, and each on of them has been training for the next one.

If you have allowed this to help you reflect on your own life, you should be proud of yourself.

I love school picture day. No matter how hard a parent may try, the pictures always seem to come out delightfully awkward capturing the true essence of where they are in life in that moment.

I hear from a lot of parents who put so much pressure on this day...making sure their little one is dressed up, hair combed, how to smile, how to sit up right, etc. They have to look great to send out to the family and friends!!!

In 2021 my son (8 at the time of this picture) decided to dress himself for picture day. We knew it was going to be awesome the moment he asked me"

"Papa, do you know where my monocle is?"

Next thing we know, he comes walking out of his room dressed like railroad tycoon.

We couldn't have been more proud of him. While some parents would be horrified (some...not all of you...just some) at the idea of letting their kid dress themselves for picture day, we totally embraced it.

Why would I want to dress up my kid in an outfit that he doesn't typically wear and doesn't really capture his personality? I want every year to capture who he is in that chapter of life. It's a gorgeous memory...

We want to raise an independent kid who can express his creative freedom and personality (as long as it's not hurting anyone else and lives within the boundaries of the law HA!).

Basically, we are raising an entrepreneur. He is always creating new ideas on how to make money and serve others at the same time. His first lemonade stand made over $300. He would sell his drawings to his classmates and sold the ones he signed for more because they were limited edition.

We are helping him develop and shape his own values - not the values society or others want him to have. We do not want to start life off creating limiting beliefs about how he is supposed to show up in life. We do teach that how you choose to show up can sometimes create undesirable results and you will be faced with a choice to either be a trend setter or change your course of action.

Living life by your own defined values isn't always easy...It takes courage.

I also help adults with this too. 😉

The most common way people give their power is by thinking they don’t have any.

~Alice Walker

Sometimes it’s easy to think we are powerless - that people or circumstances are robbing us of our power and freedom.

The truth is, we often give our power away to others…

No one is taking your power away, unless you are allowing them to.

You have more power than you know.

Where are you giving your power away?

Don’t live for anyone else’s approval.
Those who doubt, those who judge, those who cast stones...are those who are jealous and envious of your desire to achieve what they fear doing themselves.
F*€k what society says
Dream bigger than you think is possible
Run fiercely towards your giants
Be bold
Thank your haters and doubters
Don’t do it to prove others wrong
Do it for yourself
Do it because it’s your purpose
Do it expand your impact in this world
