The District operates in three comprehensive high schools, three middle schools, sixteen elementary schools, a setting D day program, and a self-directed academy. FPS also operates an alternative high school and an early childhood education center for children with special needs. Student enrollment in FPS for the 2024-25 school year is approximately 11,200. Virtual Academy held its graduation ceremony at Bluestem Center for the Arts. Twelve students walked at the ceremony, an additional 11 students received their diplomas at their homes, 10 walked with Davies, seven walked with North, and 11 walked with South.

Discovery Middle School hosted the 10th annual Fargo Strings Camp for FPS orchestra students in Grades 6-8. It featured 95 students on violin, viola, cello, and bass and culminated with a concert last Friday.
Carl Ben Eielson Middle School eighth graders in STEM class learned how to link a controller to the brain of a robot and code the brain for Bluetooth capability. They then learned how to drive the robot and use its claw to grasp objects.
Students in the Gifted and Talented programs at Fargo Public Schools’ elementary schools hosted the fifth-annual Games for Good Cardboard Arcade at Longfellow Elementary School, with proceeds benefitting the Homeward Animal Shelter.
Students created versions of their favorite arcade games out of cardboard and recycled materials. They learned about the engineering process, brainstormed ideas for a game that would capture the attention of guests, and carried out their plan.
On May 22, Fargo Public Schools broke ground on the new Horace Mann Elementary School scheduled to open in Fall 2028 on the grounds of the current Horace Mann building. FPS Superintendent Dr. Cory Steiner; Horace Mann Roosevelt Principal Leandra Ostrom; members of the Fargo Board of Education; design and construction partners from ICON Architectural Group and Kraus Anderson Construction; and select Horace Mann Roosevelt and Madison students participated in the groundbreaking. Dr. Steiner, Principal Ostrom, and School Board President Katie Christensen Mineer spoke to the students and community partners about the new school.

Three boys in Mrs. Warner’s math class created a video game to help a younger student work on a goal of teamwork. When the boys finished their math assignments, they switched to working on the multi-player video game. Each boy had a different main role: one was the programmer, one was the artist, and one was the sound director. They incorporated many of the student’s favorite things including space, dinosaurs, and even hotdogs, to make the game engaging for the child. They problem-solved each level of the game together, talking through the coding challenges, creative ideas, and being very purposeful with every element they added to the game.

The Davies Allegro Choir performed for the students at Bennett Elementary School. The choir entertained students with songs from Disney movies. Bennett students were surprised to see how many choir students were former Bennett kids.
Davies High School's Allegro Choir visited the Fargo Public Schools District Office to celebrate the end of the school year. The theme of the choir's performance was Disney. In addition to performing Disney music, the District Office staff was quizzed on its Disney knowledge.
On the last day of school, FPS elementary schools and middle schools held clap outs to recognize the transition of their fifth graders and eighth graders to middle school or high school. Students, educators, and caregivers lined the halls and exits of the buildings to cheer on the students as they left the school for the final time.

Eighth grade Flutes and Oboes from Ben Franklin Middle School performed a community concert at SMP Health - St. Catherine North for residents prior to their afternoon dessert. Selections included Pachelbel’s Canon, Pterodactyls, I See The Light, Flutopia, and Tutti Flutti.
