The past few months have been some of the most challenging that Culturally Growing Child Enrichment Center has ever faced.
There were unexpected changes, difficult decisions, and a time when we had to temporarily close our doors. I completely understand that many families had to make other childcare arrangements during that time, and I respect the decisions they made for their children.
What many people didnβt realize, however, is that Culturally Growing has always been a Black-owned business. For a long time, others were the face of the center, and when I stepped back into leading my own daycare, many people were surprised to learn that I was the owner.
Not only did I have to rebuild my business, but I also had to endure rumors, gossip, online negativity, and what felt like bullying. There were days when it seemed like people wanted to tear down everything I had worked so hard to build instead of giving me the opportunity to show the changes we were making.
I donβt know every reason why some families chose not to return, and I donβt want to assume anyoneβs intentions. Like any business owner, Iβve had moments where Iβve wondered if people viewed my center differently once they realized it was Black-owned. I may never know the answer, but I choose not to let those questions stop me from moving forward.
Instead of giving up, I chose to rebuild.
Weβve brought in an amazing new team, strengthened our program, refreshed our classrooms, improved our systems, and renewed our commitment to providing a safe, loving, clean, and culturally enriching environment where every child is welcomed, valued, and celebrated.
To every family that has stayed with us, enrolled with us, referred another family, shared our posts, prayed for us, or simply believed in our vision; thank you. Your support has carried us through one of the hardest seasons of our journey.
If you know anyone looking for quality childcare, I would truly appreciate you sending them our way. We currently have openings and would love the opportunity to welcome new families into the Culturally Growing family.
If you donβt know anyone looking for childcare, one of the greatest ways you can support us is by simply sharing this post. Every share helps us reach another family who may be searching for a safe, nurturing, and enriching place for their child.
Supporting Black-owned businesses isnβt about excluding anyone; itβs about recognizing the dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance it takes to build something that serves the community. Small businesses thrive because of community support, and every recommendation, referral, and share makes a difference.
Culturally Growing Child Enrichment Center is still here. We are stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever. This is only the beginning of our next chapter.
Thank you for believing in us and growing with us. ππ
