🎷 Big news for young jazz musicians!
Every year, East Winds Band Camp tops the charts as the BEST BAND DAY CAMP around, thanks in part to our wildly popular Jazz Elective. And now… we're leveling up.

Introducing PDX Jazz Band Camp, a brand-new collaboration between Vibe of Portland, East Winds Band Camp, and powerhouse jazz educators Jessika Smith and Cynthia Plank.

This grades 6–12 camp (one year of experience required) is an intensive deep dive into big band technique and improvisation, featuring some of the Metro area’s finest jazz performers and educators.

Did you know?
Vibe of Portland and East Winds Band Camp, as part of their mission and vision, provide opportunities and mentorship for young people, hoping to pave the way for more creative leaders. Medina is the assistant camp director for East Winds and is assistant director for Vibe Summer Programming, and was a former volunteer for East Winds. This year we introduce Jacob Taylor as part of our staff. Jacob will soon graduate from the University of Oregon with a degree in Music Education. He is a clarinetist and sometimes trumpet player and percussionist and is part of a new generation of music educators full of passion and enthusiasm for music education for ALL. We're excited to have Jacob join us as teaching staff this year, the kids fell in love with him last year, and TBH we did too.
