Today, the Board of Regents authorized the New York Education Department to move forward with the next phase of NY Inspires, a historic transformation of education in New York State.

Beginning with students graduating in 2028, New York will transition to one State high school diploma. In addition, Regents examinations will continue to serve as rigorous measures of academic achievement but will no longer be a separate diploma requirement.

After several difficult conversations and careful consideration, SEPTA has made the tough decision to withdraw from the parade this year. Unfortunately, we simply do not have enough participants committed to make the expense of participating feasible.

I know this news comes very late, and I sincerely apologize for that. We were truly hopeful that our numbers would increase as the event approached, and we held off making a final decision for as long as possible. We are disappointed that we won't be able to join in this year's celebration alongside our community.

I also wanted to pass along an update from Trillium Health. They are actively monitoring the weather forecast for Saturday. If weather conditions require the parade or festival to be canceled, there will not be a rescheduled date. Should I receive any notification of a cancellation, I will share that information with you right away.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and flexibility. We appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into planning and participating in this event, and we hope to be back and involved again in the future.

It's time to register to walk with us at the Rochester Pride Parade! *NEW THIS YEAR- we have a shuttle!! The shuttle will take us from the Foreman Center to the parade and back, so no dealing with the pesky parking situation! Bus seats are limited and available first come first serve to sign up now!
