If Acton Studios of Rochester has been on your heart for your young hero, we want you to know - our audition process is thoughtful and intentional.

Registration isn't necessarily first-come, first-served. The online audition for has 3 steps of it's own. Families begin with a short parent video sharing why Acton feels like a fit, followed by a learner video/submission where we get to see your child in their element. From there, we connect virtually and eventually meet in person as a family.

It’s less about “getting in” - and more about making sure this journey is truly aligned for everyone involved.

If you’re seriously exploring Acton for 2026–27, now is a beautiful time to begin leaning in. 💛

A special shout-out to parents for the support at home (inspiring, equipping, and connecting) and the courage to step back on the day of and give them space to rise up.

For many families, this was their first fair experience, and we hope the hard work that goes into both - helping your young heroes and permitting yourself to step back - does not discourage you or them from participating again in the future. Rather, we hope that you will experience the pure joy that comes along with watching them grow from these experiences.

Are you — or is your young adult — a homeschool graduate who loves learning, mentoring, and meaningful work?

Acton Studios of Rochester is inviting curious, courageous young adults to join our team as Apprentice Guides — an opportunity to learn by doing in a community built on freedom, responsibility, and purpose.

As an Apprentice Guide, you’ll:
✨ Inspire and support young heroes on their learning journeys
✨ Develop mentoring and leadership skills through hands-on experience
✨ Learn about the Acton model — a reimagined approach to education that values curiosity, creativity, and growth
✨ Be part of a collaborative, mission-driven studio environment

We’re looking for someone who:
🌱 Is eager to learn and grow (no traditional teaching experience required!)
🌱 Is energized by working with children
🌱 Believes in self-directed learning and the power of community
🌱 Brings a positive, humble, and adventurous spirit

And to the homeschool parents out there — if your own learners are spreading their wings, but you still feel the fire to inspire, equip, and connect young people in this generation, we’d love to hear from you too.
