We had SO much fun at the Black Bears game last weekend! ⚾ Dr. Davis and Freddie got to spend some time on the field and threw out the first pitch! In addition, one of our students, Allyson Nordling, sang the Star Spangled Banner. Amazing job, Allyson! 🎤🇺🇸

Our men's and women's wrestling teams were there just before the start of their seasons and practices. It was a great time for our Fairmont State community to hang out and get to know each other even more! 🤩❤️

We are proud to say that the Rusty & Kimberly Hutson Family BEACON Simulation Center is complete! 🩺 Today, we celebrated the center with a ribbon cutting ceremony which featured our President Dr. Mike Davis, our Chief of Staff Dr. Brian Selmeski, and our Provost Dr. Allen Bedford, who spoke about how the BEACON Simulation Center came to be, what their hopes are for it in the future, and how it makes Fairmont State a Great Place to Learn, to Work, and to Call Home. In addition, our Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Deb Struth, spoke about how the center will improve and engage student learning outcomes and prepare them for their careers in the nursing field.

We also got to hear from the people that made the BEACON Simulation Center possible. Rusty Hutson spoke about his family's connection to nursing and how excited they are for the center to start simulations in early September. Thank you to Rusty and Kimberly Hutson for such a generous gift to our campus and students!

We want to thank all of the legislatures that have supported the development of the Rusty & Kimberly Hutson Family BEACON Simulation Center. Thank you to Senator Jim Justice's Office, Senator Shelley Moore Capito, and Former Senator Joe Manchin for your words at today's ceremony, as well as your support and excitement for such an amazing addition to our campus and state!

Join us TOMORROW for an open house from 12PM-2PM for a tour! 🤩
