Congratulate our current MBA student, Olive on recently securing an internship position as a cost accounting analyst for the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) phase of our program at Delta Electronics.
Olive joined our MBA for Professional program with Specialization in ERP & Analytics in g in October 2024. She completed the 8 months on campus study phase in June 2025. Here is her story.
“I am a certified public accountant from my home country and I have an undergraduate degree in banking and finance. I have over two and a half years working experience as an accountant.
The greatest strength for this program is the practical application of ERP systems. Before this, I had never worked with SAP. The projects we were given in class were real-life projects, and that helped me develop my skills and deepen my knowledge in SAPS for HANA. This helped me getting an internship where I have to work with SAP every day.
I mostly like about MIU is the diverse collaborative, supportive global community that the university offers. As an international student, you come to a foreign country where you don't know anyone, and you get a chance to meet fellow, like-minded individuals. You get to share experiences and learn from them, whilst also enjoying the tranquil environment, where you get to see deer, rabbits, cats… It's just a lovely…
When the on campus study part ended, I was a bit hesitant about the Career Support service team. I thought I knew everything about job strategy, looking for jobs, job search. The curated information they provided us on how to look for an internship, how to tailor your resume was very helpful.
It's been 3 months when I started looking for positions suitable for curricular practical training. Even tough my experience is accounting, I always wanted to be up towards analysis or cost accounting analysis. Every week, I applied to so many analyst roles. I always curated my resume to fit to each job description. In the end, I was able to get an offer. I started working as a cost accounting analyst in September at Delta Electronics America, Texas. It's global organization, headquartered in Taiwan.
The program at MIU was going to help me to change my career path from accounting to analysis. It will help me becoming strategic financial analyst, where I can leverage the data that a company gains and to be able to drive strategic business calls and optimize financial performance.
This is what I would tell prospective students this: You have 8 months. So, within the 8 months plan your time strategically. The block system is very relaxing. You have a lot of time to just be, enjoy the peace, but at the same time, take advantage of all the free time you have within the block system. Every night, I was in the library, because I knew I had to bridge the gap between my peers, my skills and my experience. Study, gain more skills, and that will make you very ready for the market within the 8 months. You can get an internship.”
