Day 2 BYBS recap! Be Responsible: Iris presented her scientific research on hydrology in Rhode Island, upholding a responsibility to community impact.

First up for our BYBS week recap! Be Studious: Iris spent last summer conducting research at MIT, where she stretched her knowledge of machine learning and computational neuroscience.

And…. Our Distinguished Young Woman of Rhode Island for 2026….is Iris Yang of Barrington! She is the winner of a $1000 scholarship! Iris, we are so excited for the year ahead as we work with you and prepare you for Nationals. Congratulations, Iris!

Congratulations to our first runner up, Lily Tremble, of Saint Mary Academy Bay View! She is the recipient of a $500 scholarship. Way to go Lily!
