In this life you have to be willing to challenge yourself! Going through extreme adversity & overcoming helps create extreme gratitude.. ( was speaking on the importance of daily gratitude the other day! 🧘‍♂️)

This is one of the main reasons I like to go up into the mountains and experience life in a less convenient/ high stakes environment! My last trip helped me realize this.. climbing a snowy mountain 10 miles, no phone service, no stores or people for miles. Just you and the elements… having to gather & filter water when you can, rationing out the food you brought in your bag along with 45lbs worth of other things (tent, sleeping bag, extra clothes, etc.) It got down to about 17 degrees that night, and we were unfortunately unable to find ground thin enough for us to dig free the snow before sun fall, so we slept on ice 🧊..

Really makes you think of your family, social groups, food, grocery stores, running warm water, roof over your head, warm soft bed, the list can go on.. If that doesn’t cause appreciate for the bare minimum necessities most of us are blessed to have, then I don’t know what can.
