🐾 4 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

Today we're shining a spotlight on four people who make a BIG difference in the lives of our Bulldogs!

Our para professionals serve students across our entire school, from PK–12th grade, and their impact reaches far beyond what most people see.

They provide one-on-one support.
They encourage students when learning gets tough.
They celebrate the small victories.
They help teachers meet the needs of individual learners.
They jump in wherever they're needed.
They help us navigate technology.
They solve problems.
They lend a hand.
And somehow, they always seem to be there when we need them most!

Our paras are an incredible support system for both our students and our teachers. They bring patience, flexibility, compassion, creativity, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to help our Bulldogs succeed.

But perhaps what makes them most special is the heart they bring to their work.

They don't just support students academically, they build relationships. They learn what makes each child tick. They encourage, listen, laugh, redirect, celebrate, and remind our students that they are capable.

Daniel, Kristin, Nicole, and Sam thank you for the countless ways you show up for our students, our teachers, and our school. Your dedication to Fairfax R-III and your love for our Bulldogs truly cannot be beat!

🐾 5 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

Tonight, the Fairfax Fair begins, and there’s no better time to celebrate what makes our little community so special!

The Fairfax Fair is more than an event on the calendar. It’s a tradition that brings our community together year after year. It’s neighbors catching up, families gathering, kids running from one activity to the next, the sound of live music filling the evening, and a whole lot of good food and even better company.

And this year, many of our very own Bulldogs will be right in the middle of it all! 🐾💚

Our students will be participating in activities, helping with booths, and working to raise money for their classes and school experiences. When you stop by a student booth, play a game, grab something to eat, or simply show your support, you're helping our students while investing in the future of our school.

So come out tonight and support our Bulldogs! 🐾

It takes a community to build a great school.

At Fairfax R-III, we are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by people and organizations who believe in our students and invest in the future of our community.

From local churches and nonprofit organizations to businesses, community groups, families, and individuals, our community partners show up for our Bulldogs in so many ways.

They donate school supplies.
They provide meals.
They give their time.
They lend a helping hand.
They support our students.
They encourage our staff.
And sometimes, they simply remind us that our community is cheering us on.

These acts of generosity may look different, but they all send the same message to our students:

You matter. Your education matters. Your future matters.

We are so thankful for the people who choose to invest their time, resources, energy, and hearts into Fairfax R-III. Your support helps us provide opportunities, experiences, and memories that our students may carry with them for years to come.

🐾 7 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

Yesterday, our Bulldog staff came together for the first day of professional development as we prepare to welcome our students back next week. This year's theme is one we're excited to carry throughout the school year:

Through Their Lens

At Fairfax we're challenging ourselves to look at learning, teaching, relationships, and even our school through the eyes of our students.

What does the lesson look like from their perspective?
What makes learning click for them?
What might be getting in the way of their success?
What makes them feel connected, capable, and confident?
How can we create classrooms where every student has the opportunity to thrive?

Looking through their lens doesn't mean lowering expectations. It means understanding our students well enough to know how to help them reach those expectations.

It means being curious.
It means listening.
It means seeing possibilities.
It means being willing to try a different approach when something isn't working.
And it means keeping one thing at the center of our decisions: what is best for kids.

At the end of the day, our staff created binoculars as a reminder of that commitment. They represent our willingness to look closer, see things from another perspective, and never stop learning how we can better serve our students.

And what a joy it was to watch our staff lean into the day with positivity, professionalism, laughter, collaboration, and a genuine desire to start this school year strong.

We are incredibly proud of the educators who choose to keep growing, not because they have to, but because they care deeply about the students sitting in their classrooms.

Our Bulldogs are coming back to a staff that is ready to teach, ready to learn, ready to listen, and ready to believe in them.

🐾 8 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

Last night, our school board gathered for their August meeting, and we want to take a moment to recognize the people who give their time to help lead Fairfax R-III.

Serving on a school board is a commitment that happens behind the scenes. It means attending meetings, asking difficult questions, studying information, making thoughtful decisions, planning for the future, supporting our staff, and constantly keeping one question at the center of the conversation:

"What is best for our students?"

Our school board helps shape the direction of our district, supports the work happening in our classrooms, makes decisions about resources and facilities, helps ensure we are good stewards of our community's investment, and works alongside our administration and staff to build a stronger future for Fairfax.

Most importantly, they serve because they care about this community and its children.

To our Fairfax R-III School Board: thank you for giving your time, sharing your wisdom, asking the hard questions, celebrating our successes, and helping us continue to move forward. Your service may not always be visible to our students and families, but its impact reaches every corner of our school.

🐾 9 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

Tomorrow, the halls of Fairfax R-III will begin to come alive again as our Bulldog staff returns to the building!

To our incredible staff: thank you.

Thank you for choosing to spend your days believing in children.

Thank you for seeing potential when a student can't see it in themselves.

Thank you for celebrating the little victories that others might miss.

Thank you for staying a little longer, trying a different way, asking one more question, and never giving up on a child.

Thank you for knowing that sometimes a student needs a lesson, and sometimes they just need someone to listen.

Thank you for filling classrooms with knowledge, hallways with encouragement, and our school with kindness.

Thank you for caring about more than grades and test scores. Thank you for caring about the person behind the student.

Thank you for showing up for our kids, for one another, and for our community.

Our students may remember the things you teach them, but they will also remember how you made them feel... seen, valued, capable, and believed in.

That is the kind of school we want Fairfax R-III to be.

We are so excited to welcome our staff back tomorrow. We have missed the energy, laughter, creativity, and heart that you bring to our building. Most of all, we are grateful that you have chosen to pour your time and talents into our Bulldogs.

To our students: your teachers are coming back because they are ready for you. They are preparing classrooms, learning new things, making plans, and dreaming about the year ahead because they believe in what you can become.

🐾 10 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

For now, the halls are quiet.

The classrooms are waiting.

The playground is still.

The chairs are empty.

But we know what's coming. 💚

Soon, these halls will be filled with laughter. Classrooms will be filled with questions and curiosity. The playground will be filled with games and friendship. And every corner of this building will once again be filled with the energy that makes Fairfax R-III feel like home.

A school is so much more than a building.

It's the relationships built in the hallway.
It's the teacher who notices when a child needs a little extra encouragement.
It's the friend who saves a seat at lunch.
It's the coach who teaches perseverance.
It's the staff member who greets a student by name.
It's the community that shows up and says, "These kids matter."

In just 10 days, our building will be full again.

And we can't wait.

Because the best part of Fairfax R-III has never been the walls, the classrooms, or the hallways.

🐾 11 Days Until Our Bulldogs Are Back! 💚

The countdown is getting REAL, Bulldogs!

With just 11 days until the first day of school, we're starting to think about all the things that make a school year special.

The first day butterflies.
The first big laugh with a friend.
The first touchdown, serve, concert, project, or masterpiece.
The first book you can't put down.
The first "I finally got it!" moment.
The first time you realize you're capable of more than you thought.

There are friendships waiting to be made, challenges waiting to be conquered, memories waiting to happen, and so many opportunities waiting just around the corner.

So, Bulldogs, here's your weekend question:
