Yesterday would have been my grandfather’s 90th birthday. He loved cherry pie, and I had looked forward to making him one for his birthday. Unfortunately he passed in May, but I made a cherry rhubarb pan dowdy for us to enjoy.
The reason why we have so much rhubarb every summer is partly his doing! About 20 years ago, he split the rhubarb plants at my parent’s house and transplanted them.

I made a rhubarb crisp for my sister in law’s birthday a couple of days ago. I had made one the week before for a church picnic, but had misread the recipe as being 3 tsp’s of baking soda instead of powder, and I couldn’t figure out what I had done! 😅
