Bryan here! First of all, 7 pm for meetings seems to work better.

I’ve just acquired about 1,000 (you heard me) vintage topographic maps from the Geosciences department! These maps have great potential, but are severely disorganized. The hoard may prove more useful once sorted through.

SO WHAT DO YA SAY?? Would you like to help sort through the treasures this Friday at 7 pm?? ROOM 229 (the 112 lab room). You will be paid with a map of your very own!

I’ll still be hosting the zoom meeting from the room, so no worries if you don’t want to come in person.

SO excited!

Hey current students! This is from an email I received today:

"Alaska NSF EPSCoR (Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) is soliciting applications for its slate of 2021 Research Seed Grants. These grants are awarded each year to UA faculty and students to conduct research with the potential to expand the depth and breadth of the EPSCoR Fire & Ice research program.

2021 seed grants will be awarded in two categories:

Faculty Research Seed Grants of up to $20,000 each will be awarded to early- and mid-career, full-time faculty members of the University of Alaska to carry out proposals for new and innovative research projects that support the goals of the Alaska NSF EPSCoR ā€œFire & Iceā€ research project.

Student Research Seed Grants of up to $4,000 each will be awarded for similar proposals from graduate or undergraduate students at the University of Alaska."

Alaska NSF EPSCoR seed grants are awarded each year to UA faculty and students to conduct research or education/outreach projects with the potential to expand the depth and breadth of Fire & Ice efforts.
