CCE FFA Members, Parents, and Supporters,

I wanted to let you know of the passing of Kendal Thompson on Sunday. Many of you will remember Kendal as such a strong supporter of our FFA Chapter. He helped coach many CDE teams and individuals, train officer candidates, and served annually on our FFA officer interview team. Kendal also received the Honorary FFA Degree from the CCE FFA Chapter. He was one of the smartest, generous, and tallest(!!) guys I knew. We were all blessed to have known him.

If you feel inclined to drop the family a note of sympathy, their address is 1655 330th St Everly, IA 51338.

-Mrs. Schoelerman

Jarrett McClain and Tyson Tessum represented the CCE FFA Chapter the past few days at the National FFA Agriscience Fair. The boys underwent personal interviews about their projects with a group of judges on Wednesday and then presented their projects to the general public on Thursday morning.

On Friday, we found out that both projects received a gold rating! Tyson placed 4th overall in his category and Jarrett placed 6th in his category! This is a huge accomplishment as the Agriscience Fair features the top students from across the nation.

Congratulations on your wonderful achievements in Indy!

State Convention 2019 has come to a close and our chapter members had an excellent experience!

We couldn't bring 35 students to State FFA Convention without the help of our awesome chaperones. Thanks to Darcy, Ashley, Brian, and Jennifer and our fearless bus driver, Mr. Harmon. Several of our chaperones have traveled with us for many years and help make this event run like a well-oiled machine for the CCE FFA!

We were the last bus to leave the Hilton parking lot tonight after the 4th General Session finished up. It seemed fitting as this is the last time we will attend state convention as the CCE FFA Chapter. Next year, all the students will go different directions and put on a different jacket. Still, I hope that they will look back fondly on their time spent in their CCE jacket and are proud of all they accomplished as a Maverick wearing the blue and gold!
